Message from Ms. Dyson, Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we are into the Fall Break, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education. The first part of the school year has flown by, and I’m proud of the hard work our students have put into their learning.
With report cards coming home on Thursday, October 17th, this offers a great opportunity to review your child’s progress and celebrate their achievements so far. I encourage you to use this time to talk with your child about their academic strengths and areas for growth. Your involvement in these conversations is vital to their continued success.
Additionally, I want to remind you of the importance of consistent attendance. Every day of school counts and returning from break with a strong commitment to regular attendance will help ensure your child stays on track. We are here to support you and your child in making the most of the school year.
Thank you for all that you do. I hope you have a restful and enjoyable Fall Break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back soon!
Warm regards,
Cassandra Dyson
Principal
Youngblood's Club Fair
We are excited to announce the Youngblood Club Fair which will be held for students during their lunches beginning Wednesday, October 16th. Students will be able to view information about each club and sign up to participate. The meeting dates and times will be announced after the fair and information will be sent home to parents. It is important that students are aware if they would like to participate in clubs or sports, they must maintain passing grades in academics and have continuous good behavior.
The list below provides the names and information about each club.
Youngblood Literacy Night Recap
Thank you to all of the families that participated in Literacy Night on Thursday, October 3rd. Here are a few important points that were shared during the event for you to remember.
- Your child(ren) should read at least 30 minutes each night. Reading every night builds vocabulary, reading comprehension, and fluency.
- Every child should have a book to read. You are able to purchase books from a public book store such as Barnes and Noble, Half Priced Books, or you may go to the public library with your child to select free books that are age appropriate.
- Set limits on their social media, video games, and phone usage. Often students use these platforms for negative information and not for educational purposes.
September STEM Challenge
September Kicked off our first monthly Campus wide STEM challenge!
Students had the opportunity to research, design and create an insulating container that minimizes heat transfer. Congratulations to the amazing students who took on the challenge using previously learned Science concepts in Matter and Energy. We cant wait to see what our Wildcats will innovate next for the month of October! Stay tuned...
Attendance Matters
We are so proud of our students that are showing up each day ready to learn! We would like to say thank you to our parents for ensuring that our students are on time and at school. The district presented this award to Youngblood for a job well done! We reached our goal of 96% and we will continue to strive for excellence!
