NTI (REPEAT)

In the event that FCPS deems it necessary to have a NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) Day, please find all pertinent information HERE. These days will serve as instructional days which means that scholars will be assigned work in an online platform. Scholar participation is very important; therefore, all assignments should be completed and submitted, per teacher instructions.

COLD WEATHER & RECESS

As cold weather and winter sets in during the next few months, we wanted to share with you that students will NOT go out for recess when the temperature is below freezing (32 degrees). Per risk management, our playground mulch freezes and can present a safety hazard; therefore, scholars will have indoor recess on those days. Please note that we will also monitor wind chills, outdoor conditions, wind speed, etc. when making decisions. This is an effort to keep all scholars safe, which is our top priority.

Please continue to send students with coats and other items so they stay warm on days when they go out for recess, drills, etc.

PTA FUNDRAISER/SPIRIT NIGHT THIS WEEK!

You don't want to miss spirit night this week! Our next GWC Spirit Night is scheduled for January 11th from 5-8 p.m.

Our school will receive 20% of sales which will benefit our school and scholars! Just show them the flyer below in your email or bring a copy with you!

ONLINE CLOTHING STORE CLOSING SOON

The online clothing store will close on Friday, January 12th. Items will not begin shipping until the store closes; therefore, you can expect your shipment after that time.

Attendance Reminder (Repeat)

Your scholar's attendance is very important! When your scholar is not present, they miss important academic content, SEL lessons, related arts, time with their peers, all of which leads to their development and success. However, we understand that illnesses and other circumstances arise. If you scholar is absent, consider the following:

Please keep in mind that you have 3 days to send in a note/excuse in order for the absence to be excused.
You may use up to 10 parent notes.
Feel free to send in an excuse in your scholar's backpack OR send electronically to our attendance clerk, Kisha Jackson, at kisha.jackson@fayette.kyschools.us

Fayette County Public Schools and GWC invites families to participate in our educational community! We need all kinds of volunteers to help make sure our students have an enriching experience in the classroom and beyond.
