Week at a Glance
December 2 - December 6
We are sending out a Week at a Glance (WAAG) as a means to inform students and parents of the upcoming important events and announcements for the week. For general information, please visit our website by clicking the button below.
From the Principal's Office
Greetings Aztecs,
We are on the home stretch towards first semester grades. Let’s make sure we are working together to support the realization of your goals. Don’t forget to use our Aztec Core Values of respect, responsibility and resiliency to achieve your potential. Finals are just two weeks away and we have all the supports you need as long as students take the inactive.
All we need is 70% of our families to complete the Community Schools Survey. We are currently at 30%. Our kids and staff have completed the required percentage. Families please help us earn 1.9 million in support to make our school even better for kids. You have been mailed, texted and emailed the links to take the survey. Please, please, please take 10 minutes to give us your feedback and say yes to the Community Schools initiative!
Here is the link to our Community School tab which has the various survey links on the right hand side.

Non-Privilege List
At MOH, we implement a non-privilege list. The list is created and updated regularly based on the following:
- Discipline: Any students suspended from school will be added to the list and may roll over to the next grading period for excessive referrals to the Assistant Principal.
- Attendance: 3 full day unexcused absences/18 single period unexcused absences or 12 unexcused tardies.
Click on the link to access the list:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v46TN4iNSEfQIYnATVHMFMJ9AYOQVyo8a8jx7j9Vaio/edit?usp=sharing
Students on the list are not able to attend or buy tickets to extra curricular activities outside of the school days such as dances or athletic events.
How to Clear Your Name from the List:
For Attendance: Attend Saturday School!
Discipline: Maintain behavior reflecting our Aztec values. Students will be re-evaluated at the end of each grading period. Referrals to the Assistant Principal will impact removal from the non-privilege list. We strongly encourage you to attend Saturday School!

12/2/2024- AD Update
Winter Sports has officially begun.
We are still accepting clearances for Girls Water Polo. Please see Coach Martin if you have any questions about getting cleared.
Girls Wrestling started their season at the Sweetwater tournament with 4 of our Lady Aztecs participating. All girls gained valuable experience that will help lead to their success this season. We will have our first team duel this Tuesday at home in the New Gym vs. Sweetwater. (Please be aware that we will be charging an entry fee for Wrestling this season).
Girls Basketball has started their season winning 3 big games vs. Crawford, Poway and La Jolla in the Madison Regional Rumble tournament. Their next game will be a rematch of their regional championship game last year vs. Escondido Charter.
Boys Basketball is off to a hot start going 6-0 with wins over three top 10 in San Diego teams. Last Saturday they completed back to back championships at the vaunted Mission Bay Thanksgiving tournament. They will continue play in a couple weeks when they travel to Laas Vegas for the Tarkanian Classic.
We had 2 Aztecs join the 1,000 point club over the break. Paula Zumstein passed the 1,000 point milestone vs. Poway while Devin Hamilton surpassed the 1,000 point mark in the Championship game vs. Santa Fe Christian. Congratulations!
Boys and Girls soccer will start game play this week. The Girls will start their season at Home vs. Castle Park on Tuesday, December 3rd while Boys start off with a Home game on Wednesday, December 4th vs. University City. Hope to see you out in the Stadium to support.
Athletes of the Week
Viliamu Trollinger- Football @mohaztecfootball
Vili has helped the Aztec football program reach heights it has never seen. With their win last Friday, they punched their ticket to the Semifinal Round of the CIF-SDS Division 4 Playoffs. This is a first time in the semifinals for football in our schools history. Vili was absolutely dominant in the quarterfinal win racking up 12 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 QB hurry and 1 forced fumble.
Adriana Acosta-Rico- Girls Cross Country @mohcrosscountry
Adriana was a leader on the Girls Cross Country team all season competing in 6 races and in the CIF Finals. Her coach says that Adriana is known as a great teammate who brings a positive attitude to the group and never gives up. That will and determination translates to the entire team through her. This becomes extremely important when they hit that 2nd and 3rd mile.
Great Job to both of you. You make us proud to be Aztecs!
Get Cleared for Winter Sports
For Sports Clearance, we will no longer be using Register My Athlete. Instead we are with a new company called Home Campus.
As we get ready for the Fall Sports Season, you will need to get your athlete cleared to participate in tryouts.
Your student will need a physical dated after 12/1/2023 and proof of insurance. Both of these will need to be uploaded to complete the registration process.
A copy of the physical form has been attached to this message along with directions on how to complete the Home Campus registration process.
Please Click Here to register your Athlete: www.homecampus.com/login
**If you are registering as a manager, you do not need a physical - however you will need to upload a blank document to complete the registration process.
If you have any questions, please contact our Athletic Director, Coach Martin.

After School Program
Are you interested basketball, soccer, or baseball to get into shape or for fun? If so, consider joining one of our clubs and making new friends. Do you love getting your nails done or your hair? How about Anime, playing video games, or building robots? If the answer is yes, then check out the calendar and find out when and where to meet. Why go home right after school, when we have awesome new clubs running after school for FREE!
