From Our School Nurse
No student medications are allowed to be kept at school over the summer months, therefore if you left medication at the school for your child to take this school year you will need to come collect the medication(s).
PICK UP BY:
- Friday May 19 - Students who only have "as needed" medications (Nothing daily & no emergency medications; i.e. cold medications, Tylenol, allergy meds, etc.)
- Thursday May 25 - Students who take daily medication or have emergency medications (i.e. inhalers, Epipens, Seizure meds)
Any medication not picked up by May 26 at noon will be discarded. The school nurse cannot send any medication home with your student so parents will need to make arrangements to pick these up yourselves. Please call me if you have any questions.
Thank you and have a happy, sunny summer!

Career Exploration Day!
Career Exploration Day is Friday, May 12! Beginning at 8:30 a.m. for grades 2 through 5 and beginning at 12:00 for kindergarten and first grades. Students and teachers will rotate to different stations as they learn about different careers. Students will hear from parent volunteers about careers in a variety of professions.
They will learn what drew people to these professions, the education, and training needed to pursue these professions, what motivated people to seek these careers, what a ”typical” workday entails, and the pros and cons of these careers.
Best of all, students will have a chance to ask questions! It is a great opportunity for our students to learn about the variety of opportunities in the workforce and how people can follow their interests to enhance the world they live in! You may want to ask your student what they learned today!

From Our Librarian
All books need to be returned to the library by Friday, May 19!
Wyoming Reads Day is Tuesday, May 16th. Sunset is celebrating from 2:30-3:00 pm in the library. First graders will receive a book to take home!
Congratulations Graduating Class of 2023!
4th Grade Rendezvous
All elementary school 4th grades in Park County School District 6 participate in a Rendezvous to learn about this period in western history. This year Livingston School is hosting the Rendezvous on Tuesday, May 23. Students will attend presentations about Indian games, pioneer nutrition, weaving, Wyoming trains, western art, and bears. There will even be a trading post!
3rd Grade Lemonade Stand
Our 3rd grade students read a book called The Lemonade War. A project related to the book involves them creating a lemonade stand, using a business plan, advertisements, and business design. Pinnacle Bank staff talked with them about earning money, saving money and using their financial resources wisely. The culmination is our 3rd grade entrepreneurs opening their business stands, Wednesday, May 17, from 2:00-2:45 pm in the Sunset Kiss-n-Go. 3rd grade parents, grandparents, friends, and family are invited to swing by to "purchase" a cup of lemonade from our young entrepreneurs.
Adopt-a-Pilot program for our 4th grade classes
We are happy to continue working with the Adopt-a-Pilot program for the 5th year! Mr. Ted Gonzaga, a pilot with Southwest Airlines, began visiting our 4th grade classrooms April 18. He will visit May 11, 17 and 18. The Adopt-a-Pilot program supports teachers in reinforcing the importance of school and how the power of hard work and commitment are essential to achieving dreams. Pilots lead activities in the Adopt-A-Pilot curriculum by making lessons in science, geography, and math come alive, demonstrating to students how these subjects can be applied in “real life.” Students track their "adopted" pilot's journey during the time that he or she is "on the road." We are happy to have Mr. Gonzaga back at Sunset School!
