Announcing East Windsor’s 2nd Annual NATIVE SEED SOWING EXTRAVAGANZA!
Grow Local, Go Native: Transform your yard or school garden with affordable native plants! For just $5 per jug, you'll get soil packed with seeds that sprout into about 10 seedlings—enough to cover 10 square feet of garden space. That’s only 50 cents per plant! Why wait? Start your dream garden today!
Time: This is a drop-in event, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Location: Kreps Middle School, 5 Kent Lane, East Windsor 08520
Why Native Plants? Native plants are the ultimate low-maintenance solution for your garden—no fertilizers, no amendments, and little to no watering needed! These plants not only thrive effortlessly but also provide essential food and shelter for native bees, butterflies, birds, and other beneficial wildlife.
As a bonus, they help reduce flooding, improve water quality, and invite nature’s beauty right to your doorstep.
New to Native Gardening? No problem! Join us for our educational Zoom workshop to learn about how to care for your jugs, prep garden beds, and choose the perfect plants with expert guidance. Thursday, January 2, 7:00–8:30 p.m.
Make sure you RSVP in order to receive the Zoom link
Why is the event in the Winter? Most native plants need 30-90 cold nights to germinate, so after you sow your seeds you put them outside and let them do their thing (dip jugs into water as needed in the warm days of spring)
Seed Availability: Check out our website for details on our vast selection and their growing conditions.
