Hello!

What an exciting evening we had at our PTO sponsored BINGO night! All students left with a prize and a smile! Our staff appreciates all the hard work that our PTO did behind the scenes to put on this free event for our families!

On Tuesday our 4th and 5th grade students will take the STAAR interim assessment. This is an opportunity for students to practice the online platform and show that they have learned this year. The data will be used to guide our instruction for the rest of the school year.

We are still searching for our new Assistant Principal and hope to recommend a candidate at the February school board meeting. Our staff is committed to finding someone who aligns with Bennett's values of learning for all students, an inclusive learning environment, creating a safe place for students, and partnering with parents.

It is going to be fabulous week at Bennett Elementary, the VERY best school in McKinney.

Our Bennett students earn tickets for our monthly stuffed animal drawing. Students who are following our school-wide expectations, classroom expectations, participating in a our campus reading challenges, helping a friend, etc earn tickets from all staff members. Each Friday, 5 lucky tickets are drawn on the Morning Announcements for students to pick a "Principal Prize"! Then, at the end of the month, 1 lucky ticket is drawn for the stuffed animal! After spending the day in the classroom, the student gets to take the stuffed animal home to keep!

Bennett Live! is our Monthly celebration for students and staff! We come together as a school family and celebrate our students! Parents of the Bears who are receiving awards are invited to attend.

Our very own "LIttle LIbrary" has been installed in the Bennett gardens near the playground! We hope you and your families enjoy this for years to come. You may bring books, in good condition, that you would like to share with other families, and pick out a new book another family has left.

Our PTO is still seeking additional volunteers to help with maintaining our gardens, so if you would like to help, please contact the Bennett PTO or call the Bennett office.

February 8th @ 7pm - McKinney ISD Athletics will be hosting a short online meeting to offer some information regarding middle school athletics, as well as the 6th grade Pre-Athletic PE class that is offered. This meeting will provide a basic understanding of what to expect if your child plans to participate in middle school athletics.

This is my first year as Principal and my 4th year at Bennett, serving previously as the Assistant Principal. I have been in education for 15 years.
