Each Wednesday look for the electronic newsletter in your email. It is a priority to provide you with accurate and valuable communication throughout the school year. Details about upcoming events will be included in this newsletter each week.

We are excited to announce the following Parent Orientation nights.

Tuesday, September 3rd

Kindergarten, First and Second Grade Parents

Thursday, September 5

Pre-Kindergarten, Third and Fourth Grade Parents

Each evening will start with a short PTO meeting in the cafeteria at 5:45 p.m. Teacher introductions will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. At this time, the teachers will share important details about the grade level curriculum and details about your child’s school day.

These evenings are reserved for parents only. Babysitting is not provided.

We welcome you to join us for our first PTO meeting of the school year on September 6th at 9:30.

We would like to invite you to the PTO Volunteer coffee on Friday, September 6th at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria at Willow Creek. This is a great way to meet other parents, talk with our principal Ms. Sullivan, and hear about ways you can be involved this year.

My name is Heidi Reed, and I bring over 20 years of experience in education. I hold a bachelor's degree in early education, a master's degree in administration, and principal certification. Throughout my career, I have taught various grade levels, including Kindergarten, First, Third, and Fourth grades. My professional background also includes curriculum development, Instructional Specialist roles, and administrative positions.

I have previously served in Clear Lake ISD and Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, where I most recently worked as a Testing Coordinator. I am excited to join Tomball ISD as the Advanced Academic Specialist.

On a personal note, I am happily married and recently welcomed a new baby, Owen James, born on July 26th. I also have a grown son, Tyler, who turned 21 in July. This July has been especially eventful for my family! We enjoy traveling together, and my greatest passion outside of education is photography.

I look forward to working with the gifted and talented students at Willow Creek Elementary and to meeting the exceptional parents and faculty.

Mrs. Reed will begin her responsibilities at Willow Creek mid September. Until then our identified Gifted and Talented students are being served by GT teachers in the classroom with daily enrichment and extension activities. Information regarding tryouts for UIL and Destination Imagination will come home soon.

What is WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students)?

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is a family and community engagement educational initiative.

What are the goals of a WATCH D.O.G.S. program?

-To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.

-To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

We are looking forward to having Watch D.O.G.S. back on campus this fall. Watch D.O.G.S. are an important part of our campus. Watch D.O.G.S. will begin Tuesday, September 3rd. Each year a new background check is required.
