Last Recap of 2024
Beary Merry Christmas
Throughout the week our youngest learners in SMCISD celebrated the season of joy through song! Each class took their turn on stage to showcase their musicality and rhythm to family and friends while obviously also looking as cute as can be. Great job to our Bonham Bears and their teachers for coordinating such young aspiring performers!

The San Marcos High School Lady Rattlers celebrated back-to-back district wins on Tuesday, December 17! Rattlers shut down the Jaguars offense with a final score of 62-33 to improve to 2-0 in district play. The grind is real, and the momentum is building—on to the next one!
Goodnight Goes on Tour
The talented students of Goodnight Middle School spread holiday cheer throughout San Marcos CISD by traveling to various district facilities and campuses to perform festive tunes through choir, mariachi and orchestra participants along with a dance number from the Dancing Stars and a telenovela styled comedy skit by our rising thespians. Congrats to these fine arts programs on the infectious energy they brought to each performance.
Twas the Knight of Holiday Joy
The kindergarten students at Rodriguez Elementary put on a heartwarming holiday musical performance, proudly showcasing their school spirit as little "Knights." The performances were a delightful celebration of the season, filled with bright smiles and spirited energy, as the young Knights spread holiday cheer to parents, teachers, and fellow students. Way to go!
Holidays Around the World
This week the Mendez Strikers learned about various Christmas traditions from other countries. Their journey voyaged from Sweden as they carried a candle-lit wreath on their head over to England to make traditional Christmas crackers and many other countries. The festive lesson not only broaden students' understanding of Christmas, but also fostered a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity and the common themes of family, joy, and goodwill that unite people worldwide!

As part of their commitment to community engagement and fostering a spirit of generosity, the iconic coffee chain delivered these thoughtful gifts on Tuesday, December 17. The toys, selected for their educational and playful value, are designed to spark creativity and bring smiles to the youngest Rattler learners during the festive season. Thank you so much Starbucks!
SMCISD Shoutout – Eat Em Up Texans!
To celebrate their attendance achievements and fundraising efforts for their Class of 2025 scholarship program, three Travis Elementary classes took a field trip to. Strahan Arena. The Texans were given the VIP treatment as they toured all the facility has to offer to Bobcat student-athletes. Special thanks to Texas State University for opening your doors and allowing our students to experience what goes on behind-the-scenes!
