Not a Number
Blanco Senior students have been participating in Not a Number Sessions led by Erica Melton from The Hill Country Children's Advocacy Center. The Not a Number Curriculum helps teach students about the dangers of human trafficking and exploitation, how to be alert and aware of their surroundings, and what recruitment and vulnerability looks like. It also helps them learn about healthy relationships and how to identify red flags in a relationship that may be making them unhealthy. They have participated in 3 lessons up to this point and will complete the curriculum next week. The BISD Board of Trustees recently adopted the Not a Number Curriculum and BHS is implementing it this year with the Senior class and will have sessions with other grade levels throughout the year next school year. We thank Ms. Melton for hosting these engaging sessions with our students and helping to alert them to signs of danger in their world.
