Principal's Message
Dear Green Hope High School Families,
I hope you are having a wonderful week and your students are getting acclimated to a full week of learning. Please begin to check their grades on Powerschool as teachers are inputting assessment scores weekly.
We ask that students use sidewalks when they are walking to and from school. Please do not allow them to cut through the yards or driveways in the surrounding neighborhoods and on campus.
Next week is Homecoming Week, including Spirit Days, a Pep Rally, the Homecoming Football Game, and the Homecoming Dance. We hope your students plan to participate in some or all of the fun, connection events. Please remember that Friday, September 20th is a Teacher Workday and there is no school for students.

Homecoming Dance
Saturday, September 21st

Ticket sales start TODAY and tickets are $25.
There will be food from Chik-Fil-A
Notes:
Doors open at 7:00 pm and close at 8:00 pm. No students will be admitted after 8:00pm and there is no re-entry after leaving. Due to space capacity, only GHHS students in good standing are allowed to attend.

Voter Registration Drive
To coincide with National Voter Registration Day, WCPSS and GHHS are hosting a Voter Registration Drive on Tuesday, September 17 in the Commons during both halves of lunch. Citizens who will be 18 on or before November 5, 2024 are able to register and participate in this year's elections. Students who are 16 and older are eligible to pre-register to vote.
Registration expectations have changed: individuals registering to vote are now required to include the driver's license number or the last four digits of their social security number on the registration form.
Students and staff who are interested in registering to vote or updating their voter registration information are encouraged to come by the table in the Commons during lunch on September 17.
Note for 9th graders:
The new school Chromebooks issued to 9th graders have a blue protective case. The case should not be removed, as it will cause the screen to break. If your student has a damaged Chromebook or other issue with their device, they can take it to the Media Center for assistance.

Western Wake Marching Band Preview
The Green Hope Marching Band, along with Green Level & Cary HS Marching Band will host a friendly preview show on Saturday, September 14th at 7pm at Green Level HS. Admission is free, canned food donation is suggested. Come see some of the best marching bands in the area perform excerpts from their 2024 field shows in a great evening of camaraderie!

Great Xplorations: Career Exploration Event for 9th & 10th Grade Students
The purpose of Great Xplorations is to provide 9th and 10th grade students the opportunity to obtain emerging career information, learn leadership skills, recognize the value of building connections, and how to be their best self.
If you are interested in having your child attend this event, please submit the completed GX Student Paperwork Packet to Mr. Katsuleris by 9/23/2024. You may email it him or have your child drop it off in his office in room 2303. Space for GX is limited to the first 25 students who submit their paperwork. This event is a great opportunity to learn about the world of work and connect!

Senior Conferences - Senior Conference sign-ups went out to seniors in the Student Services Senior Canvas page this past week.
Senior Transcripts & Rank - Senior Rank and transcripts will not be finalized until late September.
Counselor Appointments:
Starting Wednesday, September 11th, students may schedule appointments to meet with their assigned counselor. Students may use the online scheduling system on the Counselor Appointments Page to schedule an appointment. Seniors, please do not use the counselor appointment links to schedule senior conferences.
Financial Aid Advisor:
Linda Brannan is our Financial Aid Advisor at Green Hope High School. She is able to meet with students and/or parents virtually starting September 9th. You can schedule an appointment to meet with Linda Brannan using the following link: Ms. Brannan's Financial Aid Appointment link. The Reality Series
Green Hope High School is hosting The Reality Series on October 10, 2024 in the media center!
This financial interactive simulation, sponsored by Coastal Federal Credit Union and the Green Hope High School Business Alliance, is designed to help students understand basic household budgeting and decision-making. Participating students will see the real-life costs associated with their choices as they assume the role of an adult.

Mock Interviews
In an effort to support the career development of our Health Science 2 students, we are seeking adult volunteers to conduct mock interviews with them on October 22, 2024!

Location: GHHS Media Center
