No Hibernation for Hannum Bears

Cooking with CASE

Cooking is an important life skill for all students. However, being able to independently make a snack or a meal is even more important for children with special needs. Students in the CASE program at Hometown School work once a week to prepare a new recipe in order to help students learn to work together, cooperate, and follow multi-step directions.

Kolmar 4th Graders Visit the Shedd Aquarium

The Kolmar 4th graders recently took a field trip to the Shedd Aquarium. They had a wonderful day exploring the aquarium and seeing all the different animals and exhibits. The highlight of the day was the dolphin show they got to see! The students absolutely loved it!

Sward Media Club

Sward's new Media Club has been working hard on finishing their first editions of our school newspaper "The Eagle Gazette", broadcast and podcast. 8th Grade Picture Day

Last Thursday, January 11th, Van Gogh School Photography came to OLHMS for 8th grade picture day! Excitement ran through the hallways as students arrived at school, running to their friends to see what glamorous and beautiful outfit they wore.

Spirit Showdown

The OLHMS Lady Mustangs made their way to Old Quarry Middle School for the Cheerleading Matchup Competition on Saturday, January 13th. The gym was buzzing with cheers, colorful uniforms, and shiny rhinestones! Wearing black and red, Lady Mustangs showed off their skills in an incredible routine created by Coach DiSalvo and Coach Owens which included an intricate tumbling routine, fast-paced stunts, and eye-catching dance sequence.

Empowering Students for a Year of Growth!

In the spirit of a fresh start, second grade students embraced the tradition of making a New Year's resolutions. Students made academic goals and personal goals on what they wanted to work on this year! One activity student's loved participating in was the one word challenge.
