Our HS Band and Choir students (and teachers) did a phenomenal job with the Winter Concert on Thursday, December 12!

HS teachers teamed up to create 'gingerbread' (or graham cracker) creations after our December HS Staff meeting. Students, parents, staff, and the public can vote (use the poll below) for the winner through the end of the day on MONDAY, December 16. The winning team gets bragging rights - and a jeans pass. 😊

Once voting closes, I'll reveal the teams.

You may park in the gravel lot, or in a marked/paved parking spot off of Morgan Street. (You may have to park in front of - or even past the Early Childhood Building.)

** STARTING MONDAY: The parking in the gravel lot behind the Fitness Center and Maintenance building will be for LARGE /OVERSIZED TRUCKS ONLY. **

You may not park in the grass or block any other car or parking spots in the gravel.

A repeated offense will result in a referral and possible loss of parking privileges.

Here's who I know needs to take or finish a test, and when I've scheduled that to take place:

READING - Monday, 1/2 hours:

SCIENCE - Monday, 5/6 hours:

Students should check in with their first or fifth hour teachers, then report to Mr. Wilburn in the Transition Room for testing. Bring a charged Chromebook.

The Winter incentive is on Friday, January 3 - those students who meet the criteria will go bowling at Glasgow on the afternoon of 1/3/25.

Those students who did not meet the criteria will stay at school with me and work on paper/pencil assignments.

Congratulations to SHS Senior Wildcat Brandon Terrill, Jr. on scoring his 1,500th career point last week at the Glasgow Tournament! Terrill was recognized before Monday night's V game vs. Tina, when the team presented him with a personalized ball (painted by Stephanie Meyer).

Students, when you miss a class, it is YOUR responsibility to request make up work from your teacher. Make sure that you're touching base when you return to your class(es).

Students, remember that blankets aren't to be brought into the building. They aren't allowed in classrooms, stairwells, etc.

If you need a coat, please talk to me or Mrs. Crews.

The Handbook Highlight is a recap of a handbook policy or entry that our Students/Adults need to be aware of. If I'm taking the time to include it, it's something to pay attention to - either because I'm seeing that people aren't clear on it, people aren't complying with it, or I'm about to start cracking down on it.

ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES
All students are encouraged to attend school events. Students must be in attendance on the day of an activity for at least 4 consecutive periods. Students placed in OSS or students who have failed to serve detention may not attend or participate in a school sponsored event.

Basketball season is coming up fast. With that being said, I am wanting to have a pep band for the high school home games! This will be open to alumni band members. If you are interested in playing in the pep band, please email me with your name and instrument! Lets have a great season!

On September 20, I informed the HS student body that due to issues with students wearing hats in the building during the school day, hats are not to be IN the building during the school day.

Hats should be left in vehicles or lockers. They can be left in the HS office if you need a place, but if It's on a student during the day, it will be sent to the HS office...with a referral.

If you know that you won't be at school on a certain day for an appointment, meeting, etc. - besides telling your teachers (which is great!) - please let Ms. Mindy know.

Please note the policy for Unsportsmanlike Actions at an extra-curricular activity:

1. Administrator Warning

2. Minimum of 1 week, up to and including 365 day suspension from all District extracurricular events

3. 365 day suspension from all District extracurricular activities

Due to liability concerns from our insurance company, pets are not permitted on school property, including the Sports Complex.

This excludes service animals and classroom/curricular animals, pre approved by a Building Principal.

Students learned in the first week of school that they must be in good standing to participate in extracurricular events/activities. (This includes attending those events as a spectator.)

Students must be in attendance at school for four consecutive hours on the day of the event to be able to play in or attend an extracurricular event/activity.
