The eLeader
The official digital newsletter of La Porte ISD
Greetings, La Porte ISD Family.
Today is a great day to be a Bulldog! Can you believe it's October already? Please join me in celebrating our wonderful principals as this is National Principals Month. They arrive early and stay late to ensure that our instructional staff has the support necessary continue La Porte ISD's legacy of academic excellence. We look forward to celebrating our campus principals throughout the month.
The Bulldogs' 34-27 overtime homecoming win over Kingwood Park on Friday was one for the ages, as they moved to 4-0 in district play! Watch the game winning touchdown here. This Friday is a holiday for students and teachers, but our Bulldogs football team, band, Chatos, cheerleaders and student athletic trainers will travel to Port Arthur for a 7 p.m. game against Memorial. Earlier that day, we will honor our 2023 Distinguished Alumni and Citizen class with a special luncheon at the Bulldog Centre, followed by the Lady Dawgs Volleyball team hosting matches against Texas City.

A Night of Empowerment: La Porte ISD's Remarkable GT Parent Night
GT Parent Night was not just an event; it was an empowering experience for all involved. Parents, as well as teachers and administrators, joined forces to create an atmosphere of support and encouragement for our gifted students. The event was a platform for parents to learn more about the GT program, its benefits, and the opportunities it provides for their children's academic and personal growth.
La Porte ISD's GT program has long been recognized for its excellence, and GT Parent Night was an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the incredible work being done. Parents had the chance to interact with GT educators, ask questions, and gain insights into the program's curriculum, enrichment activities, and the strategies employed to nurture the potential of gifted students.
What truly made GT Parent Night exceptional was the sense of community that permeated the event. Parents, teachers, administrators, and students all came together with a shared commitment to nurturing the unique talents of our gifted learners. The support and enthusiasm shown by the La Porte ISD community were palpable, emphasizing the importance of providing these students with an environment in which they can thrive.
As the evening concluded, the resounding message was clear: La Porte ISD is dedicated to fostering the potential of its gifted and talented students. GT Parent Night served as a reminder that, through collaborative efforts, we can provide the resources and support necessary to help these young minds reach their full potential. It was a night of empowerment, inspiration, and community, reaffirming the district's commitment to nurturing the bright minds that will shape the future. With such overwhelming support, La Porte ISD's gifted and talented program is destined for continued success and growth.
