Last week was National School Counseling week! Let's take a moment to thank our AMAZING school counselor, Lauryn Rutherford for all of the hard work she does at Prairie Trail.

School counselors play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, emotional, & career development of our students, and we are very lucky to have Ms. Rutherford! Let’s show her how much we appreciate everything she does!

Some of you may not know that we also have a Special Education Counselor, Star Mendez who we share with a few other campuses in LISD. We want to take the opportunity to thank her for the support and guidance she provides as well.

This year, instead of hosting the Staff Cookie Exchange during the busy Christmas season, we’re celebrating it around Valentine’s Day! We’re so excited to celebrate in the gym with class parties all day long! 🎈✨ The PTA has taken care of all the planning, but we need YOUR help to make it a success! 🫶

💡 Here’s how you can help:
➡️ We need volunteers to run 6 fun stations (plus a photo booth 📸) during the parties.
➡️ Each grade will rotate through the party during their regular specials time, and there are 3 volunteer shifts to choose from (each covering 2 grades).

❤️ Sign up for 1 (or even 2!) shifts and stick around to enjoy the party with your child during their grade’s time. If you’re unsure when your child’s specials are, check out the times in the graphics!

Next Thursday, February 13th, it's $1 Mustache Day! Kids can bring $1 to their teacher to grab a mustache they'll wear all day – even at their Friendship Day class parties. Each dollar raised will go towards the 5th graders' end-of-year field trip, so let's support them in style! Don't miss out on the fun – it's time to sport that stache!

We are excited to invite you to Lewisville ISD's Parent Cafe, a free parent support group led by our Student Assistance Counselors and Social Workers at Lamar Middle School. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to connect, share experiences, and receive support in a welcoming environment.

Child care will be provided, and a free family meal will be served during each session. We hope to see you there!

The Spring Fest Silent Auction is coming up soon (April 8th - 15th) and is our primary Prairie Trail PTA fundraiser of the year. Spring Fest and the Silent Auction have a broad reach beyond just our school and neighborhood and can help you or your business reach potential new customers/renters/etc.

✨ Last year’s online silent auction site had over 51,000 views!
✨ Reach up to 2,000 Spring Fest attendees & social media fans
✨ Individual auction items had up to 475 UNIQUE clicks/views!

Every penny we raise comes from donations from businesses and families like yours. The funds we raise help to pay for things like:

🏕️ New shade structures for the courtyard and the playground
🏀 Basketball goals for the playground
📚 Classroom supplies for teachers
🚌 Field Trips
🎭 Assemblies and special programs
🎃 Special events for our families like Trunk or Treat
💙 SO much more!
