Pebble Beach Pro AM
18+ only:
Since the beginning of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, hundreds of nonprofit organizations in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties have benefited from tournament proceeds. Volunteering for the tournament is a great way to give back to the community.
Registration for the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is now open.
Blue Zones of Monterey County

Monterey Bay Aquarium: Teen Conservation Leader
Summer Volunteering:
Teen Conservation Leaders (TCL) is a service-learning program for high school students to develop career and life skills, build self-confidence, and earn community service hours, all while supporting the Aquarium’s mission.
The summer begins with a week-long training where both new and returning TCL students build community and dive into basic marine biology and ocean conservation topics.Interested teens can apply for three different opportunities or tracks: Guest Track, Animal Care and Engineering Track, and Social Media Track.
California State Parks
Year round:
Volunteers are vital to California’s State Parks. The first volunteers served over 100 years ago and worked hard to preserve our most treasured places and teach the public about their value. Today, the program has grown to over 27,000 volunteers who donated over 780,000 hours of time in 2023. They assist staff in countless ways, in nearly all of California's State Parks. Please consider volunteering today and be the difference in your parks tomorrow!
Monterey Public Libraries
Year round:
"The Volunteer Program connects the public to the City of Monterey through active volunteer participation with City programs and projects, resulting in a strong partnership between the community and the City to support a safe and enriched quality of life for everyone."
Salinas Public Libraries
16+ year round:
Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
Friends of the Marina Library
We Welcome Volunteers!
We receive hundreds of donated books each month. We sell them at our bi-monthly book sales, and we sell them on Amazon. Could you help us?We will show you how to list books on Amazon.com. We sold over $15,000 worth of books this way last year. We do our book scanning and listing once or twice a week at our store at 330 Reservation Rd Suite F in Marina. Help us and you will get the first look and first pick of all our inventory while you learn the basics of being a book dealer! Scanning usually happens on Saturday and one weekday per week. Email Dana at cleahoff@gmail.com if you want to volunteer. All volunteer work is done by appointment.
City Of Seaside
Seasonal:
City of seaside is looking for coaches for Soccer and baseball. They are also looking for referees for the season. Practice is in the evening games on the weekend. Seasonal commitment, all resources provided for coaching, all equipment provided. This opportunity provides students a free opportunity to play sports and be mentored by a community member. STEM Internship:
Summer 10 week Internship:
The Monterey Institute for Research in Astronomy offers several in-person positions for high school and college students interested in astronomy and astrophysics through a 10 week summer internship program. Interns work one-on-one with MIRA’s research astronomers on current research problems including: star formation, gravitational lenses, earth-threatening asteroids, comets, stellar atmospheres of unusual stars, stellar flares and activity, asteroseismology of evolved stars, polarimetry of stars and planets, and astronomical instrumentation. Specific projects depend on current staff interests and intern qualifications.
Hospital Internship Internship SVMC:
Summer Internship:
This five-week program is a collaborative effort with Salinas Valley Health, and Hartnell College, and R.O.P./Health Academies. Our purpose is to expose high school students, recruited primarily from local health academies, to health-careers through classroom presentations, job shadowing, and group research projects. During the program, students develop an understanding of hospital organization, diagnosis, care plan development, patient assessment, and treatment.

Montage Health Foundation is dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare through education and workforce development. The summer internship program provides opportunities for college students in Monterey County to explore careers in healthcare and gain hands-on experience.

Announcements
The Community Foundation for Monterey County announced more than $1.5 million that will be made available for students in the form of scholarships.
These were made available through donations from individuals, families and businesses.The deadline to apply is March 15, 2025, and you can apply to see if you qualify, HERE. Recipients will announced on May 1, 2025.
