Superintendent's Briefing

Thanks to Paxtang's school counselor Mrs. Orth and our Secretary Mr. Keich, the students got to enjoy popcorn and a movie at lunch to represent us making good choices so we can live like stars!

Eric represents Region 2. He was born in that community and attended Northside Elementary School, Lower Paxton Junior High School, and graduated from Central Dauphin High

School in 1978.

Eric is a retired teacher. He taught adult education and corrections' education at Tri-County OIC, and the Dauphin County Prison, Louisville Secure Treatment Unit, and the State Correctional Institute at Camp Hill. He was also an Assistant Professor of Holocaust Studies atPenn State Harrisburg, and co-author of “The Dictionary of the Holocaust."

His mother, Barbara is 92 and lives at home. She loves to play solitaire, and eat fast foods and sweets. His sister, Betsy, is a nurse practitioner. She is recovering from a stroke, and lives in Harrisburg. His daughter, Gabriela, is a New York Times best selling cartoonist based in Austin, Texas. Gabriela adapted two "Baby-Sitters Club" graphic novels, and co-created and illustrated the

award-winning bilingual graphic novel,”Invisible." She also illustrated and wrote the graphic

novel continuation of the Danny Phantom television series.

NutriPacks is a direct food distribution program for all students in the Central Dauphin School District. Nutripacks provides weekend food and nutritional information to families for 30 weeks during the school year and are dedicated to helping food insecure children have the resources to thrive socially, emotionally and academically. Enrollment for the 2024 - 2025 school year is now open: https://www.cdsdnutripacks.org/enroll

• Each NutriPacks student receives a weekly food pack including breakfast, lunch & dinner items for the weekend and 1/2 gallon of milk.
• STUDENTS - NutriPacks is currently distributing packs to over 700 students each week
• VOLUNTEERS - NutriPacks volunteers are the heart and soul of fulfilling our mission
• COMMUNITY SUPPORT - Our program is dependent on funding from donations, grants and businesses
• All donations directly support students in need in the Central Dauphin School District
