VVSD ParentSquare Facilitates a Stronger School-Home Connection
What’s the difference between Infinite Campus and ParentSquare?
Infinite Campus is our student information system, and the primary source of all our data like grades, attendance, and fees. All families need an Infinite Campus account to complete registration. Contact your child’s school for login assistance.
ParentSquare is a communication app designed specifically to centralize district and school communication and keep you connected throughout the school year. Simply download the ParentSquare app and log in using the email address or cell phone number on your child’s account.
VVSD Staff Spotlight- Matt Pawlowski and Jake Bogdan, Building Maintenance
The argument can be made (and probably won) that VVSD’s individual building maintenance pros are the most versatile of all our staff members. Their skill set includes, but is not limited to; HVAC, plumbing, groundskeeping, carpentry, snow removal, just to name a few.
Recently at R.C. Hill Elementary School, Administrative Center Building Maintenance Matt Pawlowski and R.C. Hill Building Maintenance Jake Bogdan installed murals of students in the R.C. Hill gym/cafeteria multi-use space.
Matt and Jake can fix or install just about anything, except if you need your computer screen made smaller!

Kudos for Noteworthy Achievements
Bolingbrook HS Social Studies Teacher Colleen Guccione visited China this summer to attend the Yangtze River Delta Region STEM Sino-American Teaching Summit and the 2024 International Seminar for Primary and Secondary School Principals held by the UNESCO Teacher Education Center in Shanghai. Colleen presented and shared her expertise as an AP Human Geography teacher on using Human Geography to support STEM topics and on the Illinois Global Scholar program. “My hosts were most interested in sharing quality teaching methods,” Colleen said. “In particular, what allows our AP Human Geography students of multiple academic levels to succeed. They also were interested in how we are integrating technology and data into our classrooms.
Romeoville HS 11th grade student Brandon Davis returned from the National ACT-SO Competition with a third-place bronze medal in the Earth and Space Science category. Brandon’s competition submission topic was “Investigation on Air Quality and Correlation to Health Habits.” ACT-SO is an acronym for the Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific program which is a cornerstone of the youth division of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). ACT-SO is an Olympics, of sorts, designed to showcase the talents of underrepresented students of African descent.
Seen Around Valley View-
Annually, the first official student event of the new school year is middle school softball tryouts. The Lukancic Middle School softball team moved their first practice indoors because of early morning rain showers on Mon. July 29.
VVSD Superintendent Dr. Keith Wood welcomed new VVSD staff members to our team at the New Educator Orientation.
Our VVSD Operations team performing early morning, very precise mowing. The photo is an optical illusion because of the perspective and the shape of the sign. The flowers are in no danger from the mower which is about to pass behind the Admin Center sign!
