8th grade Recognition
Thanks to all of the families who were able to join us Friday night for our 8th grade recognition. What a wonderful night we had! Here are just a few highlights from the evening! For more pictures visit https://bit.ly/EJMS8th24. Special thanks to Lindsey Mulcahy and David Riddle from East High for joining us for a memorable night with our 8th graders and their families!
Title 1 School Survey
Thanks to everyone who has responded to our Parent and Family Engagement Survey. We use the survey results to make decisions regarding parent and family engagement for the following school year. So far, EJMS has the third best response of all schools in the county. In order to get even more responses from each school, the district has decided to keep the survey open for one more week, so it will now close on Friday, May 17. Hopefully, you've seen the quarter sheet lime green paper (see image) that students have brought home so that they can receive a treat for your filling out the survey. This is the only way we can know who filled it out, as the results are anonymous by school. We will also be drawing for larger student/family prizes on Thursday of this week from the sheets that have come in. So far, sixth grade has the most green slips towards the drawing.
Thanks for all you do to support your child!
From Nurse Erin
8th grade parents:
*Medications- If your child takes any medications that will be given at school, remember you will need a new medication authorization form filled out for the high school.
* Immunizations- Please make sure your student gets their immunizations updated and turned in to the high school.
* Physicals- If your child will playing any sports, please make sure they have an updated sports physical and turned in to the high school.
6th and 7th grade parents: Make sure your students immunizations and physicals are up to date and turned in to the nurse.
ALSO: If your student has any leftover medication from the year, it must be picked up by the end of the day on the last day of school.

From our Youth Services Center
With a relationship between screen time and depression in adolescence, understanding the impact of excessive screen time and implementing strategies to reduce its impact has never been more vital. That's why we are having two webinars this month all about screen time.
On May 14 at 1:00 PM EST, we will dive into the ins and outs of screen addiction and its long-term impacts on the lives of kids and teens.
Then on May 22 at 11:00 AM EST, we will gain practical strategies for how to dial down screen time and reduce its impact.
Of course, as always with our webinars β whether you attend live or watch it later, you'll get a recording of the webinar.
Please reach out if you have any questions or you can visit our website for past webinars and for more information!
