Walk and Roll Audit
The Western Slope Conservation Center and the Nature Connection are hosting a “Walk and Roll Audit” on April 3rd, 2024. The goal for this event is to assess walking and biking walking routes between different points in Paonia and Apple Valley Park, identify pedestrian and bicycle safety hazards, and suggest collaborative solutions.
We would really like to engage kids and families to help assess safety concerns for strollers, kids on bikes and teachers leading walking field trips. The event is on April 3rd and will begin at Paonia Town Hall at 2:30pm. We will make a special stop at NFSIS at 3:35 and walk through Town Park on our way to Apple Valley Park at 4:30.
Visit thenatureconnection.net/family for details and RSVP. We have an informal RSVP so we know how many people plan to come. However, an RSVP is not required.
Support Paonia K-8 School at the District Dash Run/Bike Event
The DSCD school with the most participants wins a Climbing Wall activity at the school's field day. Let's go Paonia K-8, we can do it!!
I Matter Mental Health Services
About I Matter
Colorado House Bill 21-1258 established I Matter in 2021 to provide access to mental health and substance use disorder services for youth, and to address needs that may have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. I Matter is open to youth 18 or younger, or 21 years of age or younger if receiving special education services.
In May 2023, the Colorado State Legislature renewed I Matter to provide free therapy for youth through June 30, 2024.
I Matter is managed by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration. I Matter provides up to six free therapy sessions for youth in Colorado and reimburses participating licensed therapists.
