It has been another awesome week at Wolman Elementary! Our Explorers are working hard and routines and procedures are becoming a habit, which is great! We have a very fun end of the week planned that includes our first House Pep Rally! We encourage our students to wear their house color tomorrow. Our houses include the colors of red for the House of Amistad, blue for the House of Reveur, black for the House of Altruismo, or green for the House of Isibindi. Parents are welcome to show their house spirit by cheering on our Explorers during our House Kick Off Parade tomorrow afternoon! We ask that parents stand behind the flags that will be placed along our front drive area near the front of the school and by our kinder area; please see the flyer and map below for specific details!
Arrival and dismissal are becoming even more efficient as the school year progresses. We are noticing a couple of areas that would increase both safety and efficiency and we need your help! Please remember that cell phones are not to be used when in our car rider line at arrival or dismissal; this includes taking photos or video of students. Please continue to pull as far forward as possible and make sure that your family number tag is clearly visible to our school staff; there is a photo below of how your tag should be displayed. Car seats should be on the right side to aid your child with getting in and out of the vehicle and parents should stay in their car throughout car rider arrival and dismissal. Also, all drivers are required to follow the directions of our trained crossing guards stationed on North and South Firethorne. For example, turning right out of our front drive is the safest mode of exit during arrival/dismissal so please follow the direction of our crossing guard at our front entrance and our crossing guards at our other crosswalk areas to ensure the safety of all. We have also noticed an increase in parents who park along streets around the school and then "walk" to drop off/pick up their child. Our students who utilize our biker/walker arrival and dismissal must walk or bike all the way to and from school; if students get in/out of a vehicle then "car rider" should be their mode of arrival/dismissal. Animals should not be brought onto school property at our biker/walker areas. We appreciate everyone supporting the safety of our students at arrival and dismissal.
As a friendly reminder, we are rolling out new lunch visitor procedures. These procedures are outlined below clearly; so please review carefully and complete the information in the links found below. We look forward to welcoming lunch visitors to campus beginning September 3, 2024.
We have had fantastic participation in our Read-a-Thon! If you have not yet signed up your child, you still have time; please see the instructions below! Katy ISD dress code guidelines as well as telecommunication device guidelines are below; we encourage you to review these if you haven't already and ensure that your child is in compliance. Also, on September 13th, we will be promoting creativity and courage during "Dot Day"! There is a flyer below regarding this fun event!
