Lions Park Paw Prints
Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
Thank you to every student and family member who participated in any way in our Staff Appreciation Week. Every kind word, thoughtful note, flower, gift or food item meant so much to our staff. We feel so lucky to work in a community that values education and supports our educators in the way you do. Special thanks to the PTO, Melissa Nelson and Mallory Reyes for organizing a wonderful week of food and treats.
Thanks also to all who came out to the events this week! McTeacher Night was a fun community night out that raised money for our PTO. Fine Arts Night was special as we admired the art work of all students, shopped for books at the Book Fair and watched beautiful performances by our chorus students. Thank you to Ms. Kennedy, Mrs. Koehlinger and Mrs. Merrill and all staff who helped out for making these events possible. Tonight will be a good opportunity to give back at the Principal Advisory Council organized Feed My Starving Children packing event.
The end of the year is such a special and exciting time! We look forward to our fifth grade clap out. Our fifth grade families are invited to join us on June 4th at 11:45 a.m. in the courtyard as their fifth graders exit Lions Park for the last time. The students take one last walk around the school as staff and younger students applaud and then exit the building to the applause of family in the courtyard. Parents of fifth grade students receiving the Presidential Award will be send an invitation to an Awards Ceremony that will be held on May 31st.
We look forward to making the most of these remaining weeks of school with meaningful learning and fun. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
We wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and other women who play special roles in the lives of children.
Warmly,
Katie Kelly
Principal
