Please don’t forget to notify your child’s teacher if you are allowing grandpa, grandma or special person to take your child home with them; we cannot allow them to go without your permission.
Warm Clothes
As the weather continues to get colder, students will want to wear warm clothes for going outside for recess. Please make sure to label clothing just in case they are left someplace and need to be returned to an owner.
Attendance Letters
Attendance letters are sent out each month to the parents of students who have missed more than eight days of school, irregardless of the absence being excused or unexcused. PE Corner Happenings
We had our 15th annual 5th grade 5K on Monday! Our 5th grade did awesome! The 5th graders all did their best and had great attitudes despite the cooler weather! Such an awesome accomplishment they have worked so hard to prepare for!
5th Grade 5K pictures HERE
We wrapped up our soccer unit with small sided soccer games last week. Students have done well with “mass soccer” and “line soccer”. The next couple weeks will consist of fall-themed invasion games involving overhand throwing, catching, and dodging/fleeing.
Two years ago, we started the “Possible Shot” in Physical Education class. This is a challenge where students stand 5 feet away from a 4 inch PVC pipe standing upright and are given 3 attempts to toss a tennis ball into the tube. Students are only allowed to attempt the “Possible Shot” if they are chosen for having exemplary character skills that were determined for that day. This year we have started letting students nominate peers who they felt did a great job playing fairly, showing good sportsmanship, working with others, and being a good leader. While we still nominate students as we see fit, it is awesome to see students recognizing who is going above and beyond in PE, and reflecting on what that student did well. This school year, the first person to successfully conquer the Possible Shot is our kindergarten friend Josephine Kirschling! Josephine regularly sets an example for others with her easy-going personality, positive attitude, and consistent smile! Josephine works hard and was a great nomination and start to the 2024-2025 school year BW Possible Shot Hall of fame!
