Summer Program offerings include Hawthorn Music Camp, Hawthorn Enrichment Institute (HEI), Extended School Year (ESY), Summer Scholars, and Early Start Kindergarten. More information about program offerings and registration will be shared after winter break.

Summer School Dates: Monday, June 10 - Tuesday, July 9.

• Session 1: June 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 20 (HEI)

• Session 2: June 24, 25, 26, 27 & July 1, 2, 8, 9 (HEI and Music Camp)
  

No School: June 19, July 3, July 4, Fridays.

Please note that Spanish speakers are welcome at all sessions, but we will specifically have a Spanish-speaking facilitator at the Sunday, December 10 sessions.

Our next virtual Educate and Empower Parent/Guardian Event will take place on December 6, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. This session, Childhood Anxiety: A Look Inside the Mental Health Crisis and How Parents Can Help, will be presented by Cherry Hill Counseling. In this session, we will dive into what anxiety is and how it can present from childhood through adolescence. Strategies for children and caregivers will be explored, as well as information on when and how to get professional support. Prevalent issues including social anxiety and school refusal will also be discussed.

Choose a family from this list. Purchase the gifts, wrap them with love, and securely attach the provided tag to ensure they reach the right hands. Beginning Dec. 12, drop off your wrapped presents at The Welcome Center (1500 W. Hawley Street, Mundelein, IL 60060) between 8 - 4 p.m.

Help us bring joy to children in need this holiday season by participating in our toy drive. Simply drop off toys at Elementary South (430 Aspen Dr, Vernon Hills, IL) by Wednesday, December 6th. You can check out the wishlists below for guidance on desired items. Your contribution will put smiles on the faces of deserving children during this special time of year!

The Educate and Empower Parent/Guardian Event, Self-Care and Stress Management, with Simply Bee Counseling was a huge success! If you were unable to attend, please access the video recording here. In response to Erin’s Law (House Bill 6193), which requires all public schools to implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program, Hawthorn District 73 is hosting the Be Seen and Heard© assembly program for all preschool and elementary students during the week of December 4, 2023. This program is designed to create an age-appropriate, safe, and engaging environment in which students learn the difference between safe and unsafe touch, and the importance of having trusted heroes.
