Dear Knox Families,
We officially have moved into September! I hope you and your family enjoyed the long weekend. I definitely am hoping for a little cooler weather with less humidity.
For today’s newsletter, we just have a few announcements.
1. School IDs and Tardy consequences start tomorrow, September 4th. We have been warning the students for the past few weeks about wearing their School ID Badges every day as well as getting to class on time. The consequences for excessive tardies (more than 7) and not wearing your School ID Badge can be found in the Knox Student Handbook.
2. The Knox PTO has their first Spirit Night this month at Black Walnut Café on Monday, September 23, from 4:00 p.m. until close. 15% of the sales will go to Knox PTO. You can dine in or get your order to go! Please see their flyer below.
3. For the past few months, our school gyms have been under construction. We are very close to completion. We appreciate all of our coaching staff and our student athletes for their ability to pivot and to workout in alternate spaces. The Knox counselors are available in the cafeteria during lunches to see students if they have questions or concerns about anything. This is another opportunity for students to visit with a counselor if they have difficulty seeing a counselor during the day.
College Park Academy of Science and Technology Lunch Visits
Representatives from the College Park Academy of Science and Technology will be at Knox on Monday, September 16, during lunches to visit with students who may be interested in applying to the academy. Parent information nights will be held the following week as follows:

If students forget their lunch, parents may bring it to our front office staff. However, please do not send any type of door dash or delivery company to our campus. We will only accept items from our families.
New for this year: Students only will be allowed to charge up to 15 breakfasts/15 lunches. Once those fees are paid, the student would be allowed to charge again.

School Supply List:
Students will meet with their teachers over the next two days to go over school supplies. Prior to the start of school, the departments made an initial list of items that students will need for this upcoming school year. This list is not all inclusive but is an excellent starting point for students regarding school supplies for this upcoming year.
Note: If you would like to help out with school-wide distribution supplies, we still are in need of copy paper (500 sheets),

Smart TAG/ID Information
Smart Tag/IDs will be required for all students. They must be worn each day and visible via a Lanyard. On the first day of school, all 7th grade students will receive their new ID along with a blue Knox lanyard. All returning 8th graders should wear their badge from last year. If 8th grade students need to replace their ID, please email Ms. Mapes Clevenger at madmapes@conroeisd.net. In addition, 1st and 5th block teachers will assist students if they need school ID badges.
With this requirement, students must wear their IDs every day. If they forget their ID, they will be required to have a temporary ID which can be obtained from their 1st or 5th block teacher. If a student loses their ID during the school year, the replacement cost will be $5.00. We will have Lanyards available as well for purchase at a cost of $2.00 each. If parents have any questions about IDs, please contact your child’s administrator. These fees will be loaded to their student’s School Cash online account.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week! As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Take Care,
Dr. Stacey Moseley
