Dear Alto Families,
It was another great week at school, and it’s hard to believe we’re already into November. Halloween was a ton of fun for our students! It was great to see so many of you here for the parade. Also, thank you to the parent volunteers who helped with classroom parties and events. The involvement and participation of our parents is a huge part of the success we experience as a school community. THANK YOU!!
The first trimester ends November 17th, so it is important that students continue to work hard to successfully complete this first tri.
Free Project Kidsight Vision Screening Provided by the Local Lions
The Lions of Michigan Foundation funds a free vision screening program called Project KIDSIGHT aimed primarily for children. Identifying kids at this age with vision issues gives them a chance to have remedial action to correct the problem and maybe by doing so at this early age, they might not need further correction when they are older. Presently, the Kent County Health Department conducts sight and hearing evaluations for children in the first, third and fifth grades. The local Lions group would like to offer vision screening for kindergarten, second and fourth grades to augment the Health Department’s vision checks. The vision screening will occur on November 30th. Please see the attached information. A paper copy will be sent home next Friday with all kindergarten, second, and fourth grade students. If you would like your student(s) to participate in this free screening, please complete the Vision Screening Consent Form when you receive it next week and return it to school at your earliest convenience. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this free vision screening.
Have a great weekend!
With appreciation,
Paul Papes, Principal
