Yearbooks On Sale Now!
Yearbook orders will again be online this year between now and April 11. Simply click on the link and follow the prompts. Yearbooks will be delivered to the school and passed out to students in May. Order now before you forget!
Family Food Pantry
Our Family School Pantry will be Thursday, Dec. 12 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. as a drive-through at the back of John R. Wooden Middle School. Families should enter the school's one-way road off of Sycamore Street. A volunteer will write down a few pieces of information and then offer a variety of items. These items will then be placed in your vehicle. Future food pantry dates this year are Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 13, April 10, and May 15.

Volunteering at Green
All volunteers MUST have a background check on file in order to participate in class parties, field trips, etc. The background check should be done in advance and cannot be done the day of an event. Please contact Mrs. Cramer for a form and more information.
A driver's license is also required for our new Verkada guest check-in station. This procedure will be completed for each volunteer activity.
*Please note: Visitors are not allowed during lunch. Thank you for your understanding.
Office News
Dismissal: If you wish to change your child's dismissal transportation, you must notify Mrs. Cramer at the office by 3:00.
PLEASE DISPLAY YOUR CAR RIDER SIGN FROM THE REAR VIEW MIRROR SO WE CAN MAKE DISMISSAL QUICKER. ADDTIONAL CAR RIDER SIGNS CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE OFFICE.
Clinic Updates
Colder Weather: Students will continue to have outside recess so long as the weather is not too cold. Please make sure your child has a coat, hat, and gloves. There are a limited number of these items in the clinic for students to borrow.
When to Stay Home: Students are sent home if their temperature is 100.4 degrees or higher, or when a student vomits. Your child must be fever free (without medication) and not have vomited for 24 hours before returning to school.
District Attendance Guidelines
AUTHORIZED ABSENCES: If documentation is not provided, these absences will be recorded as unexcused absences. Documentation does include calling into the office.
DOCUMENTATION: All legal or medical documentation must be submitted within 5 days for the absence to be recorded as excused. The school’s fax # is 765-349-7428.
PLEASE CALL IN OR SEND A DOCTOR NOTE for the attendance to be excused.
Attendance Letters & DCS Notification:
Attendance letters are generated and sent via email on the 5th unexcused absence, 10th unexcused, and 18th unexcused absence.
Under IC 20-33-2-25, the school must notify DCS when a student reaches 10 unexcused absences. See additional information below.
Guidelines for Duty to Report to DCS Regarding Attendance (IDOE)
Under IC 20-33-2-25, the “Superintendent or an attendance officer having jurisdiction shall report a child who is habitually absent from school in violation of this chapter to an intake officer of the juvenile court or the department of child services. The intake officer or the department of child services shall proceed in accord with IC 31-30- through IC 31-40.”
Everyone should report abuse or neglect. The reporting and investigating of suspected child abuse and neglect are not discretionary matters. They have been required by law (IC 31-33-5-1) since 1979.
Do Report When...
- Students have reached ten (10) or more unexcused absences.
- Educational neglect is suspected
- Students are missing and unaccounted for
