HES Shark Scoop

Dear HES Community,

I hope you're all enjoying a restful and fun-filled summer! Here at HES, we're eagerly preparing for the upcoming school year and can't wait to welcome both new and returning Sharks!

Our custodial team is hard at work, giving our classrooms, offices, and common areas a thorough cleaning—everything is already shining! Meanwhile, our administrative staff is busy stocking up on curriculum materials and supplies to ensure we're ready for a fantastic year ahead. Our dedicated teachers will soon start setting up their classrooms, and we’re looking forward to a smooth and exciting start to the school year.

For important back-to-school dates, please check the calendar section of this newsletter. Additionally, the Shark Scoop will be delivered to your inbox every Friday during the school year, so be sure to keep an eye out for it to stay updated on important dates and information.

We are also excited to announce some new additions to our HES team! This summer, we've been working diligently to fill open positions with highly qualified professionals. Please join me in welcoming the following new team members:

• Sandy Foster-Smith has been rehired and will be teaching first grade.
• Susan Ashe will lead our SURF program. Susan joins us from Sandwich Public Schools.
• Amy Webster will be joining the Individualized Student Learning Environment (ISLE) program as an instructional assistant.
• Jennifer Brown will support the Students Understanding Real Feelings (SURF) program as an instructional assistant.
