Student Success
A Self-Paced Classroom sets up the conditions for a teacher to meet student needs at a pace where students are in the learning process while freeing the teacher to be able to meet in small groups to close learning gaps.
This learning environment frontloads the content to the students through multiple modalities. The students learn the content at a pace that meets their learning preferences. For example, some students need to be presented the content once and they got it. Other students may need to have the ability to return to the content multiple times. As the teacher, you still have control of the situation as you present the content and the deadline to know the content. How students learn the content is in control of the students, and this builds up their student agency.
The second way a Self-Paced Classroom meets students needs is that the teacher is now available to meet with students individually or in small groups. During this time with students, the teacher can provide direct instruction, close learning gaps, mentor students with academic and non-academic goals, and offer individual feedback conferences on student goals, progress, and mastery of goals.
A Self-Paced Classroom is your solution to improved student outcomes!
