This Week's Events
Native Garden Planting Event
Hello everyone. We hope you are all well.
This message is on behalf of the MEA Native Garden Club. You may have seen us working behind Ms. Rice's room on Tuesday mornings.
If you haven't heard of us yet, our club is working to establish a natural, outdoor area on the K-12 school campus to educate students and provide habitat for wildlife. The garden will become home to various native plant species to jointly support native wildlife.
This message is regarding our first ever school-wide event!
On April 9th, from 8 - 10:45 am, we will be hosting a planting event behind Ms. Rice's room, B16. Everyone from K-12 is invited to join us to "adopt" a plant. You will be able to choose from a variety of native plants and, if you please, name the plant. So, if you are interested, please join us!!
You may show up at any time between 8 am and 10:45 am. Parental supervision is required for grades K-5.
Please fill out the following form so we have a rough estimate of how many people will attend.
Thank you and we hope to see you there!
Spring Art Show
It's finally here!!! Our second annual M.E.A. Spring Art Show is happening this Thursday, April 11th outside the Serenity Garden from 12:00 to 3:30. Come on by and check out some of the great creations made by the students here at M.E.A.
We will have work on display from several of our classes, and a rocking lunchtime performance by the illustrious M.E.A. Jamband! Weâre looking forward to seeing you all there!
Patterns Week
Every week, there will be a different theme to wear. Show your spirit by donning stripes, polkadots, plaids, and more for Patterns Week.
Week 1: Pattern Week - wear any and all patterns you have!
Week 2: Western Week - denim, cowboy hats, boots, and everything cowboy!
Week 3: Haberdashery & Scarfery Week - wear all of your favorite hats and scarves!
Week 4: Grayscale Week - wear your black, white and gray clothes!
Participate to have fun with your friends!
D&D Quest Club
D&D Quest Club will be running mini-adventures for the end of Month 8, on April 12th & April 19th , from 12:30-2:30. This is a great way for you to try D&D and other role playing games without a commitment to a longer story. Or for more experienced players to try out a different character types that you don't typically play. No experience is necessary and we will have premade characters for students to choose from.
Seats are limited and Sign-Ups are required - JOIN HERE
Open to students in grades 6 & up.
Please only sign up if you can make both dates.

There is no theme this year, so feel free to submit written, digital, and artistic work about anything. Just something to keep in mind, people of all ages will have access to each issue, and though we want people's content to be true to their original intent, we do ask that you keep in mind the level of maturity of your work so all readers can appreciate it! Heights is a magazine that publishes lots of mediums, so feel free to submit your photography, sketches, paintings (pictures of them), and any other visual medium! Leader in Me - Habit 6: Synergize
For month 8, our school's focus is Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw.
Habit 7 is the habit of taking care of your body by eating right, exercising, and getting the right amount of sleep. It's the habit of spending time with family and friends; to learn in lots of ways and lots of places, not just at school. The habit is about taking the time to find meaningful ways to help others.
