April Resiliency Trait: Problem Solving
Problem solving is a process of finding and implementing solutions to difficulties or obstacles. Utilizing problem solving skills can reduce stress, improve confidence and learn from one's experiences.
Positive ways for children to approach a problem:
- Recognize that problems are a normal part of life. It is normal to feel upset at times.
- Use a growth mindset: see problems as challenges from which to learn and grow.
- Believe in your ability to solve the problem. Remind yourself that you have the skills, strengths, and resources to come up with solutions.
- Know that challenges require time and effort. Some problems might take longer than others to solve, and that's ok.
