Looking Back . . .
It is interesting when a year has been completed to look back and see what you have accomplished and what you would like to do differently in the next. A time of reflection helps to give direction on what needs to happen and what needs to change.
For Life and Family Services this time of reflection entails looking at statistics and how God has used this ministry to serve those in Noble County in need of the services we offer.
In 2018, 359 individuals participated in the programs offered by our organization. The total number of visits was 1,647. Of the 1,647 visits, 1,049 visits were for prenatal or parenting education. 414 visits were those using their earned Beds and Britches, Etc. (BABE) vouchers in our BABE Store for items needed such as diapers, wipes, formula, and clothing. This past year there were 127 new clients who were referred to us through friends, relatives, or organizations and physicians throughout Noble County.
Fundraising can be challenging and fun at the same time. Challenging because of the work involved and the uncertainty of meeting the financial need of the organization. It is fun because of the spirit of teamwork we shared with the approximately 240 people who partnered with us to make our fundraisers successful (successful means we meet the financial goal that God knows we need). The Twinkle of Hope-Dancing with the Stars event, the Baby Bottle Campaign, the apple dumpling sale at the Apple Festival, not only provided us with the funds needed to operate, but caring people who partnered with us in carrying out our mission to “promote life, strengthen families, and offer hope through God’s love”.
A huge thank you to those who have “partnered with us” by donating diapers, wipes, clothing and other items for our BABE Store and for financially supporting us through your faithful giving. Your support and partnership are appreciated!
But most importantly are the individuals God has brought to us. Meaningful relationships have been established through us being the “hands and feet of Jesus”. We want to be supportive and make known to them the hope that God offers everyone. There are many challenges and issues facing families and we want to be a resource of encouragement and assistance to get them on the path of lifetime success.
We are excited about 2019 and to discover what God has planned for Life and Family Services. We will continue to be faithful to His direction and serve those who enter our doors.
God Bless,
Debbie Derby

Every Heartbeat Represents a Life Worth Living
Human life — from the very moment it begins to its very last breath — is the pinnacle of God’s creative imagination and power.
God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth’” (Genesis 1:26).
To be pro-life means that you not only want that child to enter the world, but that you want that child to thrive when they enter the world. It’s not just about getting children into the world, but about making sure they flourish as human beings once they’re here.
The sanctity of human life — the God-given dignity, wonder, and worth of every man and every woman — begins at conception, and it does not end at birth. The six-month-old boy and the four-year-old girl are just as massively and beautifully precious to God as the boy or girl on the ten-week ultrasound.
Pregnancy help organizations, such as Life and Family Services for instance, have been one ministry to the unborn and beyond the unborn — to the mothers, fathers, and the children after birth. Our mission is to "promote life, strengthen families, and offer hope through God’s love."
We are blessed to be a part of so many lives in the Noble County communities’, but we can’t do it alone. We need you to walk this journey with us. We need your prayers, your words of encouragement, and your financial support.
We have entered a very discontented time in our country and Life and Family Services, as well as other pregnancy help organizations, is needed to help and provide compassion and information to people in the midst of making responsible decisions. Join us today at www.lfsfamilies.org
WELCOME Lee Ann Sparkman!
Previous to coming to Life and Family Services, Lee Ann worked in the medical field for 17 years. Her experience in the medical field taught her how to work with clients with compassion.
She became a teen mom when she gave birth to her beautiful daughter 20 years ago. The experience of being a teen mom helps her empathize with clients that find themselves in that same situation. She loves working with and getting to know the clients that come in.
Lee Ann is proud to call Grace Christian Church her church home, where her husband is a worship leader and she volunteers in the nursery.
When she is not serving our clients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her two daughters and her son.
