Weekly Community Updates - September 20, 2024
I hope everyone enjoyed Back to School Night last night. We loved meeting the families of our students! If you missed it, we have the 10th, 11th and 12th grade presentations linked below and they will be on our website by next week. You are also more than welcome to contact your student's school counselor with any questions.
Today marks the end of the first six weeks of school! Teachers will be posting grades in ParentVUE by the end of day Wednesday. This will be a snapshot of how your student is doing in their classes. After Wednesday of next week, click "Report Card" on ParentVUE to view their grades. If you have any questions about your student's grade, please reach out to your student's teachers.
Have a great weekend!
Take care,
Maritza Torres
Parking Permits
Oceana has been enforcing parking regulations in the staff and student parking lots this week. Vehicles without a parking permit have been issued a pink warning notice. Students who wish to park in the student lot must check in at the attendance office to obtain a parking permit. Please bring your driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Failure to display a parking permit may result in a call to guardians, loss of privileges, and potential citations.
Breakfast on Wednesdays
Starting October 2nd, Oceana will be serving breakfast to students on Wednesdays from 8:10 am until 8:25 am. We hope students enjoy!

Trivia Night
New date for Trivia Night! Please note that Trivia Night changed to October 8th from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm in Oceana's cafeteria. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Please RSVP here or through QR code for Oceana High School's Annual Trivia Night! The night is hosted by the OSPTO as a fundraiser for the school. We will provide pizza and soda (including a vegan option) with a suggested donation of $5 per person or $20 per family (pay with cash or check at the door). Please RSVP so that we know how much pizza to buy! Hope to see you there!
Hygiene Drive
Oceana's Annual Hygiene Drive begins on Monday, September 23rd! We encourage students and staff to bring unused hygiene products to their advisory's collection bin every Friday until October 25th. All donations will be brought to the Pacifica Resource Center and distributed among community members in need. Remember, the advisory with the most donations will receive a pizza party, so donate for a chance to celebrate!
If you have any questions, contact ASB Secretary Benny Manio (stu.bmanio42@jeffersonunion.net)!
