The Cedar Hill High School Softball Team wrapped up its 2024 season last Friday. The Lady Longhorns earned season sweeps of Dallas Skyline and DeSoto, respectively, to finish sixth in District 6A-11.

Cedar Hill also earned early season victories over Arlington Lamar, Irving MacArthur, Fort Worth Nolan Catholic, Fort Worth South Hills and Garland Lakeview Centennial.

The Cedar Hill High School Baseball Team defeated Mansfield Legacy, 4-1, for its second consecutive District 6A-11 victory. The Broncos are the second place team in 6A-11; the Longhorns lost to the Broncos, 3-1, last Friday, in a series split.

Cedar Hill (13-11-1, 4-8) has a chance at its first overall winning record in five years if it can win at least one of its last two games against Mansfield Lake Ridge (12-9-1), a team that's competing for the district's fourth and final playoff spot.

The teams will meet on Tuesday in Cedar Hill and on Friday in Mansfield.

Cedar Hill High School senior Krystan Bright qualified for the UIL Class 6A Track & Field Championships in the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles, on Saturday, May 4 in Austin.

The UT Rio Grande Valley signee won the 300 Hurdles Gold Medal (42.09) at the Regional Meet last Friday in Waco, defeating second-place Lillian Harden (Cypress Bridgeland), by .32 seconds.

Bright also reached the Regional Finals in the 100 Meter Hurdles (sixth, 14.90).

The Cedar Hill Boys 4x200 Meter Relay Team of Alex Rodgers, Zechariah Ebron, Le'Keldrick Bridges and Rashaud Howell finished third at Regionals (1:27.05).

Rodgers, an SMU Football signee, reached the regional finals of the 200 Meter Dash (seventh, 23.00).

Sophomore Desman Manuel placed fifth in the Shot Put (50-3 1/4).

Cedar Hill High School Spring Football begins today and will culminate with the Longhorn Spring Game at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 23. The Longhorns will have intrasquad scrimmages on May 2, 9 and May 16.
