Week In Review and A Look Ahead
November 8, 2024
Notes from the Principal
It's hard to believe that our first trimester is nearing the end! The last day of Trimester 1 will be November 21. Next week we will push out information on our November Conferences, which will occur on November 25 and 26. Parents/Guardians will need to sign up online to schedule a conference.
Monday, November 11 is Veteran's Day. On behalf of the MSE community, I would like to send our appreciation to all current and former veterans for their dedication and service to our country. It is important to recognize and value those for their time, efforts, and service to our country.
PE October Star Students
The Phys Ed Department would like to recognize their PE Stars for the month of October. These students are shining examples of how students should conduct themselves while in Physical Education class. They are always participating and giving their best efforts, being kind and are very helpful. They also demonstrate a deep passion for physical fitness.
Congratulations to
6th grade: Madison Healy
7th Grade: Declan Kelly
8th Grade: Mason Northrop
Spirit Day
Student Council is hosting “Neon Day” on Friday, November 15th. The regular dress code still applies which includes no hats, sunglasses, or face paint. We are looking forward to seeing everyone wearing bright, neon colors!
MSE Book Fair
The East Book Fair will be open November 18-22!
It’s book fair time! Your student will have the opportunity to shop at the book fair in school during the week of November 18. Each ELA class will visit the book fair, but students may also visit the fair during study halls to make purchases. There are many items for your child to purchase including books, posters, bookmarks, and more!
We accept the following forms of payment.
credit cards
debit cards
Apple Pay
Google Pay
checks (made out to BMSE Activity Fund)
cash (small bills appreciated)
Scholastic eWallet
We are unable to take money from student’s lunch accounts or accept Venmo. Students who need their phone for payment will be allowed to stop at their lockers before visiting the fair.
Students will be able to donate their unwanted change to buy books that will be donated to the Boyertown Multi Service in December.
If you are unable to attend the book fair in person, visit our online fair. The online fair will be available on November 15. Email our librarian, Mrs. Mento, at kmento@boyertownasd.org if you would like to pick up your books in the office. This is perfect if you plan on giving books later as gifts.
Gently Loved Books
We also have two carts of gently loved books available for kids who don’t have money for the book fair. www.scholastic.com/bf/beast
Email our librarian, Mrs. Mento, with any questions. kmento@boyertownasd.org
MSE Winter/Holiday Assistance
For many, the colder weather and the holiday traditions of winter cause an increase in emotional and financial strain. If your family is in need of assistance this season, please let the MSE school counselors know using this confidential form. Through donations and community resources, we are honored to assist our families in need.
🎁 The deadline to request holiday assistance is Friday, November 15. After this date, the school counselors will continue to work with families. However, available resources may be more limited.
Please complete this form to indicate your preferred stores and/or items. While we are not able to guarantee specific matches, we will make every effort to be considerate of requests.
A school counselor will be in touch by December 6 to schedule pick up or delivery of items between December 10-16.
Student Council Food Drive
Student Council is hosting the Turkey Day Food Drive from November 6 - November 20. All items will be donated to Preston’s Pantry at Boyertown Area Multi-Service. See the image below for suggested items that are most needed at Preston’s Pantry. Students should bring donations to the library and place them in teachers’ boxes. The teacher with the most items in his/her box will have to wear a turkey costume on the last day of school before Thanksgiving break!
