Student Intent to Return Form for 2025-2026 School Year
We are updating enrollments for the 2025-2026 school year. In doing so, we would like to know how many of our present Kindergarten through 5th grade students will be returning to Prairie View Elementary next fall. All families are required to complete this form (one per student) by March 1st, 2025 so we can ensure our data is accurate for the district.
The Main Office will start contacting families that have not completed the form the week of February 17th.
PVES Yearbook Online Ordering
Order your yearbook for the 2024/2025 school year! Link below.
Deadline to order a yearbook is March 17, 2025
Bus Driver Appreciation Week
Bus driver appreciation week is February 12-16th. More than 15,000 school bus drivers in the state of Wisconsin travel more that 82 million miles a year transporting more than 600,000 students to and from school every day. Join us in thanking these dedicated drivers!
In addition, please make sure that you are following bus safety laws by stopping behind a bus that is stopped with it's stop sign out.
Classroom Treats!
All birthday treats sent to school must be pre-packaged. All treats must be “nut free” and sensitive to any allergies within the classroom. The treats should not require refrigeration or freezing. The teacher will determine an appropriate time and manner for items to be distributed so as not to disrupt the classroom learning.
If you want to come to school to eat lunch with your student you will need to check in at the main office. Food from an outside vendor is prohibited. We are able to accommodate any adult who would like to enjoy a school lunch with their student. Please let the office know before 9:00 a.m. the choice of lunch you will be having with your child.
Gifts, balloons and decorations should be kept at home to celebrate with your family. Deliveries to the classroom will not be allowed. It is not acceptable for parents to bring in balloons, flowers or deliveries.
Forward Exam Testing
The state of Wisconsin will be again participating in the Forward Exam this year. The window for testing is March 31 - April 25, 2025. Specific testing dates for students in grades 3-6 will be shared in the March newsletter. It is important that students are present on testing dates. Your cooperation is appreciated to avoid scheduling vacations or appointments on these days.

Vision and hearing screens will take place at your child’s school during the month of February. First graders will receive vision and hearing screenings, and kindergarten, third and fifth graders will receive vision screening.
Your child will receive a copy of the screening results. The form will indicate if no further evaluation is needed or if follow up is recommended with a Physician, Optometrist, or Audiologist for further evaluation. Results will be documented in your child’s school health record and available to parent/guardian upon request.
If you have a child in second, fourth, and/or sixth grade, and feel they would benefit from a free vision or hearing screen, please contact your child’s school health assistant to request a vision and/or hearing screen for your child. If you would not like your child screened, also contact your child’s school health assistant.
Thank you,

If you have concerns about your child's development, you are encouraged to register. If the child is not an MASD resident, they must be in an MASD school aged program. District staff will screen your child in the areas of cognitive development, personal/social skills, fine motor (small muscle), gross motor (large muscle), adaptive, speech/language, hearing, and vision. This screening is NOT 4K or 5K kindergarten screening. There is no cost, and takes approximately 45 minutes.

MASD Reading Rumble
4th-6th grade students have the opportunity to sign up for the MASD Reading Rumble! This is an optional reading trivia competition that takes place in MAY 2025. Students will form teams of 2-4 students at their grade level, create a team name, and divide up the reading of 10 chapter books chosen by a district committee. If students want to participate, they will need to have a permission slip signed. They will have check-ins throughout the next few months until the School Rumble in May, where they will gather in a bracket-style competition to see which teams are the fastest and most accurate in remembering details from the books.
In addition, the top team at each school will compete at the District Rumble on May 21 at the PAC. If you want more information, please email Mrs. Mack at mackan@masd.k12.wi.us or Mrs. Barton at bartome@masd.k12.wi.us Thank you and happy reading!
Substitutes Needed and YOU Can Help!
- Have you ever thought about teaching in a classroom?
- Do you want to earn some extra money?
- Do you enjoy working with students?
It is now easier than ever to become a substitute teacher. A three-year short-term sub license is available for applicants who hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university and who have successfully completed an approved substitute training program, but has not completed a state-approved educator preparation program.
Once an educator holds a current three-year short-term substitute license, they may short-term substitute at any Wisconsin school district that employs them.
