Staff Spotlight - Mr. Bernier
Mr. Bernier has been teaching Physical Education at Ware Public Schools for over 26 years! He loves watching the kids work hard on their skills and grow throughout their time within our halls. When he's not at school, Mr. Bernier can be found coaching the high school golf team and taking to the links himself!⛳🏌🏻
P.S. - If you see him this weekend, it's his birthday tomorrow!

Holiday Break
Holiday Fun and Learning at WMS!
This week, the teachers and paras brought holiday cheer and learning together with a multitude of educational, holiday activities. Read on for all the FUN and FRIVOLITY!
Holidays Around the World
Ms. Musnicki's Social Studies classes researched holidays around the world and held a fair for fellow students.
Milk Carton Gingerbread Houses
Ms. King's Math classes had the opportunity to design the perfect gingerbread house.
In this activity, students received a set amount of virtual money to decorate their gingerbread house. They explored a “virtual store” filled with various decoration options, each priced with decimal values. The challenge was to carefully budget and calculate costs as they selected items for their house.
Students practiced essential math skills, including:
- Addition: Adding up the total cost of their chosen decorations.
- Subtraction: Keeping track of how much money they had left after each purchase.
- Multiplication: Calculating the cost of multiple quantities of the same item.
This hands-on activity combined creativity with practical math skills, making it a fun and educational way to strengthen their understanding of decimals. It also provided an excellent opportunity to discuss budgeting and making thoughtful financial choices!
Hot Cocoa Lab
This week in room 8 and 9 we watched the Polar Express! On Friday we did a chocolate chip lab to test whether movement affects melting time, and a hot chocolate lab to see what happens when you mix a powder and liquid. We also had a friendly competition between the rooms with some fun trivia across all subjects. Joining classes gave us the opportunity to spend more time with the students and for our students to work with different people.
Making Seasons Bright
Students in Ms. Hayes, Ms. Gillmeister and Ms. Ligawiec's classes watched The Polar Express and created some "express" mail for seniors at nursing homes. Students also made a line plot while watching Rudolph - how many times do the words "Christmas" and "Rudolph" get used?
