Dr. Crystal Cooper Thompson, Principal
Car Rider Procedures
This year we have set a new policy that requires all of our students to be in school at the 8:45 AM bell. We are finding that this procedure isn't being followed as hoped, and that some children are being dropped off without proper supervision. We politely ask that you follow the procedures of all staff who are assigned to this area. Also, if the door has closed at 8:45 AM, that you politely drive to the front of the school to drop them off.
This procedure has been updated and changed, because we have to start our day earlier in order to begin our academic routines. Our staff need to travel to their classrooms to be able to support student arrival.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. Thank you for supporting our efforts to keep this area of our school safe and secure for all involved.
Happy 100th Day of School!
We have made our students 100 days smarter today and we are excited about it! Thank you for entrusting us with your children to guide them in being smarter, friendlier students. They care about school and desire to do great things. We are honored to be a small part of their lives.
Come join us this evening for our annual STEAM Night! Join us in the cafeteria at 5:30 PM for our opening and recognition awards for the Science Fair. Also, Kona Ice will be here in the foyer to "chill" you for the night. The teachers and staff are excited to welcome you this evening!
We celebrate the amazing contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 21st. On this day, taking time to support our community, promote peace and help the less fortunate is a special way to commemorate the day and his birthday! He would have been 90 years old on January 15th, 2019.
Awards Days begin next week: Invitations have been sent to students who are receiving an award

Friendly Reminders
- All visitors will be asked at the door who they are and their reason for entering the building by our front desk clerk. Always have your ID ready to show every time. Vanessa Camacho-Chapparo is our new front desk clerk and is happy to join our team. Please be patient with our new district requirement that ensures a stronger and safe environment for our school community.
- We will begin our morning announcements at 8:45 AM daily and ask that all car riders are in their seats ready to begin their day prior to 8:45 AM.
- We are going to use Mypaymentsplus for all of our monetary transactions besides small fundraisers throughout the year. Please make sure that you sign up for this with the information below.
- We are infusing social emotional learning with our PBIS discipline program. Every classroom will have morning meeting daily where they will greet one another, share something based on a focused topic, engage in an activity and end with a morning message. This 10 minute activity every day ties to our AKS, but also helps to start the day off positively. Ask your child about the amazing experience.
