Halloween - Costume Dress-Up
We encourage students and staff to wear costumes on Thursday, October 31st to participate in Red Ribbon Week Dress-Up Days. Just a couple reminders:
- No Masks or Full Facial Make-up for students at school.
- No implements, weapons, or carriable items.
- Students need to participate in school, so please think through the costumes they wear to school.
- Costumes need to follow District Dress Code Policies.
School Site Council
Several parents have expressed an interest in serving on the Sycamore Canyon School Site Council (SSC) for the 2024–2025 school year. School Site Council consists of the principal, parents, and staff members who work together to discuss school issues, make decisions regarding the school budget, and monitor implementation of the academic program as presented in the Single Plan for Student Achievement. There are 2 Vacant Positions for parents on the council for this year. Please follow this link and vote for the two people of your choosing. Thank you!
Joining a Board Advisory Committee
- Joining a Board Advisory Committee is a great opportunity to have your voice heard and make a meaningful impact on future district policies. Applications are being accepted through Wednesday, October 30. Applicants will be presented for Board approval at the November 5 meeting. Apply here.
Kids Free October
- There is no better time to be a kid in San Diego than right now in October, when the Kids Free San Diego returns! Kids aged 12 and under can get free admission into more than 50 local museums. aquariums gardens, historic sites and other attractions, including theme parks like LEGOLAND California, SeaWorld San Diego, the San Diego Zoo & San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Sesame Place San Diego, Belmont Park and more. PRIDE Assisting our Community (P.A.C.) Room
- The PRIDE Assisting our Community (P.A.C.) Room is open and available to all families in the district. If you are in need of toiletry or household items for any member of your family, please contact PRIDE Academy’s school social worker or make a appointment to visit the P.A.C.
