Message from Mrs. Lewis
Dear Randle Parents and Guardians,
Each week, I begin our announcements with motivation for our students. This past week, I shared the quote: “Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” —John Wooden
I encouraged students and staff to focus on their unique strengths rather than their limitations. The gifts and talents they possess can turn potential obstacles into opportunities for growth and success. I challenged them to shift their mindset to “I can and will in spite of…” and to remember that even the most overwhelming tasks become manageable when broken into smaller steps. As we move into the last week of the fourth grading period, please encourage your student to check Skyward for any missing assignments, attend tutorials if needed, and stay focused on their goals. Small efforts, repeated each day, lead to success!

If you have not yet had the opportunity, please check your email for the link. Your feedback is extremely valuable in helping us improve our school community. The survey will remain open until February 28, 2025, so please take a few moments to share your thoughts.
As we continue through the semester, we ask for your support in reminding students of our campus expectations:
- Dress Code – Shirts must fully cover the midsection (no midriffs showing) and NO pajamas allowed. IDs must be worn at all times.
- Electronics Policy – Devices must be put away throughout the school day, cellphones are only permitted during breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria. Headphones and earbuds are not permitted at any time.

- Senior Parking is located at the side entrance and requires an additional fee for upgraded parking.
- Students may NOT park in the front lot, as it is designated for staff and visitors only.

Climate Survey Open February 3-28
As part of our ongoing efforts to assess and enhance our school environments, we are gearing up to launch our annual Campus Climate Survey, scheduled to run from February 3 to February 28, 2025. This survey is an essential tool for gathering valuable feedback from our community, students, and staff, helping us understand their experiences and perceptions of their school climate.
The insights gained from this survey are valuable, not only for identifying strengths but also for addressing areas that need improvement. Your participation in this process is vital to our collective effort to foster a positive, supportive, and productive learning environment across our district.
Please watch your email for this very important survey. Thank you for your attention to this important initiative and for your continued dedication to our students' well-being and academic success.

Applesauce Needed!
We are excited to announce our Apple Sauce Food Drive! We need your support to make it a success. This is an opportunity to give back to the community and help those in need. We are collecting apple sauce to distribute to local families and individuals who could use a little extra help during difficult times.
Please send unopened packages of apple sauce to the front office, library or Room 2150. Every donation counts! Your generous donation helps spread joy and nourishment to those in need.
Royals Make HISTORY at Nationals!
The Royals made history as they took home the title of NATIONAL CHAMPIONS at their very first trip to Nationals! The Royals placed FIRST in the Pom category. They were the ONLY team in Lamar CISD to make it into the Finals. But that wasn't good enough for our girls--they took it even further and brought home the GOLD! Congratulations Royals and congratulations Coach O'Haver!
Congratulations on a Great Season, Lady Lions!
Last Thursday, the Lady Lions traveled to College Station to compete in the 5A-DII Area game against Pflugerville High School. The Lady Lions fell short by 1 point against Pflugerville with a 44-45 loss, ending the season.
We are so proud of our Lady Lions this year, as they fought to overcome impactful injuries and adjusted to playing as a team with 10 new varsity players. The Lady Lions will end their season with a 10-2 district record, a 19-13 overall record, and Area Finalists.
If you see a Lady Lion, please congratulate them on their accomplishments this season. Thank you for your ongoing support this year and for your unwavering dedication to our student-athletes. We have said it all season, but we could not do this without our Randle Family!
Last weekend, our Randle TSA team participated in the Gulf Coast regional competition at Cinco Ranch High School. The TSA Gulf Coast chapter has more participants than several states and is made up of 33 different schools in the region and had thousands of submissions to be judged on Friday and Saturday.
Please congratulate our VR team (Alwin Arellano, Anish Jana, Layla Lawhern, Van Le, Shain Maredia, and Kaden Pennygraph) for finishing 1st overall and advancing to the state competition in April. Here is the link to the video part of their submission: https://youtu.be/0d5Z3bWmYeg
Also congratulate Jiaen Jiang and Christine Ronald, who will advance to the state competition for their performance in Forensic Science. The forensic science category was so large that the test had to be offered Friday night and Saturday morning. Despite the large competition, Jiaen and Christine finished in a qualifying spot and will take on the next level of competition at state.

Parent Standards of Conduct
Lamar CISD welcomes parents and guardians to be engaged and involved in student academics and activities. Mutually respectful behavior at school campuses and in interactions with campus staff is essential for fostering a positive and productive school environment. Establishing clear parent/guardian standards of conduct sets expectations and creates a respectful and supportive atmosphere for everyone involved.
- Safety and Security: Parents/guardians must comply with safety and security protocols on campus, including sign-in procedures and visitor badges.
- Adherence to School Policies: Parents/guardians must familiarize themselves with school policies and follow them, including rules related to student drop-off and pick-up, dress code, and behavior expectations.
- Respectful Communication: Parents/guardians must communicate with school staff in a respectful and courteous manner. This includes using appropriate language, listening to staff members’ perspectives, and refraining from disrespectful or aggressive behavior.
- Appropriate Use of Technology: Parents/guardians are expected to use technology, such as email or messaging apps, responsibly when communicating with school staff.
- Appropriate Time and Place: Parents/guardians are expected to understand the appropriate times and locations for discussions with teachers or school staff. There may be designated parent-teacher conferences or specific office hours when staff can address concerns.
- Privacy and Confidentiality: Parents/guardians must respect the privacy and confidentiality of other students and families. Discussions about individual students must be conducted privately and not shared with others.
- Conflict Resolution: Parents/guardians are expected to engage in constructive conflict resolution if they have concerns or disagreements with school staff. This includes seeking appropriate channels for dispute resolution and avoiding confrontations on campus.
- Feedback and Suggestions: Parents/guardians should feel welcome to provide feedback and suggestions to the school administration but should do so in a constructive and respectful manner.
Prohibited Behaviors
In order to provide a peaceful and safe school environment, Lamar CISD prohibits the following behaviors by parents/guardians and visitors:
- Abusive, threatening, profane or harassing communication, either in person, by e-mail or text/voicemail/phone or other written or verbal communication
- Disruptive behavior that interferes or threatens to interfere with campus operations, including the effective operation of a classroom, an employee’s office or duty station, a campus lobby, or school grounds, including sporting events, parking lots and car-pickup
- Threatening to do bodily harm to a District employee, visitor, fellow parent/guardian or student
- Threatening to damage the property of a District employee, visitor, fellow parent/guardian or student
- Damaging or destruction of school property
Consequences
Depending upon the severity of the incident, parents/guardians or visitors may be removed from or otherwise banned from campus and participation in school-sponsored events under the criminal trespass laws.
In situations involving lesser infractions or where remediation is viable, a warning will be provided in writing prior to the filing of trespass and issuance of a formal ban. Should a parent/guardian or visitor fail to heed the direction issued in the warning, a ban or other restrictions designed to deter the conduct will follow.
No restriction, however, will prevent the parent/guardian from working collaboratively with the campus or district to meet the child’s educational needs, nor will a parent/guardian be excluded from a child’s IEP meeting.
Specific procedures for campus warning and ban decisions can be found in policy GKA (LEGAL) and GKA (LOCAL), as well as the Lamar CISD Student Handbook.
