What is Measure J?
As election season draws near, you may see signs for "Measure J" in and around Tustin Unified. In case you ae wondering, Measure J is a school bond measure on the November 5, 2024 ballot for Tustin Unified School District (TUSD). It seeks voter approval to issue up to $261 million in bonds. The funds would be used to repair and upgrade aging school facilities, modernize classrooms and labs, improve safety and security systems, and update infrastructure like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The measure also includes provisions for citizen oversight and audits to ensure that all funds are locally controlled and used effectively.
