eNews at the Bend
Week of February 2, 2025

THANK YOU!
As we reflect on the past week, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the support and encouragement you have shown us. The way our CBS community came together during this difficult time has been truly remarkable. We are so proud of how our students handled the challenges they faced, and we know that Rick would be proud of them as well.
As we continue to honor the memory of our dear friend Rick, we are planning a student-led celebration of life to pay tribute to his impact on our school community. This event will provide an opportunity for our students to share their stories and celebrate the joy Rick brought to our lives.
Looking ahead, we are committed to continuing Rick's legacy through the FOAC program. We are actively planning for the remainder of the year and are excited about how we can honor his vision while blazing a trail forward. Please know that there are many conversations happening behind the scenes, and we will keep you informed about upcoming events and plans.

Mountain Brook Schools, the City of Mountain Brook, and ALL IN Mountain Brook have partnered together to provide a local crisis line for our community. With increased trends in anxiety, depression, and mental health needs, national and local resources have quickly become overwhelmed. Wait times for national hotline numbers are not conducive to individuals who need help quickly.
The Mountain Brook Crisis Line is a helpline that can be accessed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week to help support you or your child as you are navigating some of life’s most challenging times. This crisis line is supported by trained crisis counselors who work to support, de-escalate, and provide local resources to the caller. In the event of imminent danger, the Crisis Counselor is connected to local dispatch services and can help our local departments conduct wellness checks that may prove to be life-saving.
The Mountain Brook Crisis Line is active and available for all Mountain Brook residents. The line can be reached by calling 205-92SAVES or texting 205-927-2837.
