Early Childhood April Update

April
Dear Families,
We're thrilled to announce that this month, our little explorers will be diving into the wonderful world of nature! Get ready for exciting adventures as we learn all about the plants, bugs, animals, and everything else that makes our world so fascinating.
We're eager to get outside and experience nature firsthand. We'll be spending as much time as possible outdoors, in addition to our regular 60 minutes of recess, to observe and learn about the natural world around us. This hands-on approach will allow your children to connect with nature in a meaningful and engaging way.
To ensure your child is comfortable and ready for our outdoor explorations, please remember to check the weather forecast each day and dress them appropriately. Layers are always a great idea, as the weather can change throughout the day. Consider sending them with:
- A light jacket or sweatshirt
- A waterproof coat or rain jacket (if needed)
- Comfortable, closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor play
- A hat (for sunny days)
We're looking forward to a month filled with discovery and fun! We can't wait to see what amazing things your children learn as they explore the wonders of nature.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Megan Sutton

MRA Survey Time!
Wentzville Early Childhood parents and families, please take some time to complete this important parent survey. The survey will close April 30, 2025.
This survey was given to our families, students, and staff back in September and again this month. This link is unique to our early childhood program, so if you have kids in multiple schools, please check their newsletter to answer questions for that building.
Learn more about this survey and its purpose here. Find the fall results here.
Earth Day Coloring Contest - from Meridian Waste
Meridian Waste was kind enough to volunteer for our Transportation Showcase last month. This month, they have invited us to compete in an Earth Day Coloring Contest. They will select different winners from various age groups. If you would like your child to participate in this - click here to learn more!
Wentzville Wow Factor
Click HERE to nominate an amazing educator!
What happens next? Our educator is in for a surprise! They'll get an email filled with your positive feedback. Buildings will also shout out our Wentzville Wow Factor nominees during team meetings throughout the year.
Thank you for helping us celebrate our dedicated Team WSD members.
Ready or Not - Kindergarten, Here We Come!
Is your child Kindergarten bound? You do NOT need to enroll, register or sign up for a screening. We have taken care of all of that for you! So sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of your Pre-K experience. We have your child enrolled, screened and ready for their Kindergarten year in the WSD.
We do want to encourage you to attend your child's elementary school's Cruising Into Kindergarten event. There you will learn more about your specific school, meet some staff, meet some new friends and have the opportunity to ask questions.
Prop L | Vote April 8
The WSD is bringing Prop L, a zero-rate-change bond proposal, to the voters this April. If passed, Prop L would address key facility needs across the district by:
- Funding enhanced safety and security measures in all schools;
- Renovating legacy buildings such as Heritage Elementary, Wentzville Middle, and Holt High;
- Resurfacing all WSD elementary playgrounds to improve accessibility;
- Replacing turf at Holt, Liberty, and Timberland high schools' athletic fields; and more.
Learn how Prop L would impact your school at wsdlegacy.com.
Paid for by Wentzville R-IV School District; Brian Bishop, Superintendent; 280 Interstate Drive, Wentzville, Missouri 63385.

Opt-Out Form for The Body Safety Program
Throughout the duration of the academic year, the Wentzville School District partners with community agencies that specialize in providing students, families, and educators with preventative education. Agency presenters are credentialed, coordinated through the District, and under the supervision of building administrators. Presentation topics are targeted toward specific grade levels. All students will participate in each program unless you choose to opt your child out of the lesson(s). If you are interested in opting your student(s) out of presentation(s), please click the appropriate link(s) below.
