Eat with the environment in mind:
Get creative with your leftovers and prevent food waste Cooking enough food to intentionally have leftovers is actually a smart approach that can save you time and provide you with lunch or other dinner options for the week.
Here are a few tips for making the most of your meals:
1. Wash, cut up and keep in the fridge or cook enough veggies for a few days so you can have them on hand for a few recipes or snacks throughout the week. (whether you stir-fry, steam or roast) You can also use any leftover veggies in tomorrow's pasta dish, eggs, quiche, or stir fry.
2. Roasted chicken or turkey can be easily used throughout the week. Even a turkey breast in the crock pot can be used for a few meals. Think about the chicken or turkey with roasted veggies and potatoes the first day and then leftovers for sandwiches or chopped up for a stew or pot pie. Also, using the veggies you cut up earlier in the week.
3. Cooking a few pounds of ground meat (chicken/beef/turkey) at the same time and then either freezing in portions for quick meals at another time or use some for chili tonight, spaghetti with meat sauce tomorrow and tacos at the end of the week.

Growing Great With Sesame Street
Parents are faced with many difficult situations that mean difficult conversations with their young children. Topics like grief, divorce, homelessness, incarceration, displacement and emergencies are tough to talk about with other adults, let alone with preschool-aged children.
The Sesame Workshop through Sesame Street has created an amazing website with videos to help parents explain important topics, articles to give parents more insight on those topics and interactive games, storybooks and activities to help families teach children how to make sense of their world and how to grow in it.
The Family Resources tab has drop down menus to learn more about how to teach young children, have big conversations, help children learn how to identify and manage their emotions and find online webinars, games and storybooks.
