Davey Safety Drills
As part of our ongoing commitment to student safety, we will be conducting our annual emergency drills over the coming weeks. These drills include fire drills, tornado drills, evacuation drills, and lockdown drills to ensure that students and staff are well-prepared in case of an emergency.
The purpose of these drills is to practice safety procedures so that everyone knows what to do in the event of an actual emergency. While we hope we never face such situations, preparedness is key to ensuring the well-being of our students and staff.
Key Points:
- Scheduled Drills: Drills will take place throughout the school year and will be conducted in a calm and organized manner.
- Student Participation: All students will be participating, and teachers will explain the procedures ahead of time so that students understand the importance of the drills without feeling alarmed.
- Communication: If a real emergency were to occur, we will communicate with parents through our school’s notification system. It’s important to ensure that your contact information is up-to-date with the school office.
Please feel free to talk to your child about these drills and reinforce that they are important for everyone's safety. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
Varsity Football Games Expectations
As we continue our exciting football season, we want to ensure that our Friday night games are enjoyable and safe for everyone. To achieve this goal, we need your cooperation in adhering to the following guidelines:
Arrival Time: Students must not remain on campus between the end of the school day and the game's start time at 7 p.m. Instead, students should plan to arrive 30-40 minutes before kickoff. There is no supervision after school.
Supervision: For the safety of our younger community members, all elementary students must be accompanied by an adult or an older sibling who is at least in high school and supervise them during the game.
Crowd Management: To ensure smooth operations and safety, spectators are asked to avoid congregating in large groups around the concession stand and restroom areas.
Code of Conduct: Please remember that our school's code of conduct remains in effect during all school events. This includes:
No profanity
No fighting, inappropriate touching, or horseplay
No drugs or alcohol
Spectator Expectations: As outlined in our Athletics Handbook, we expect all spectators to:
Demonstrate good sportsmanship
Respect and cooperate with cheerleaders, coaches, and student-athletes of all teams
Be positive toward players and coaches regardless of the game's outcome
Respect the judgment of officials and coaches
Fan Code of Conduct: In fairness to our student-athletes who spend a lot of time preparing for these games, our Fan Code of Conduct will be strictly enforced. Violations may result in removal from athletic contests and other school events.
We want all our students and community members to enjoy and support our student-athletes positively and respectfully. Your cooperation in following these guidelines will help create a fun and safe environment for everyone.
Thank you for your support of Kent City School athletics!
