Track and Field Sweeps First Place Honors at Homewood Invitational
Hewitt-Trussville Outdoor Track and Field swept first place honors on Saturday at the Homewood Invitational.

Baseball Wins a Pair on Saturday
Hewitt-Trussville Baseball improved to 14-2 overall on the season with a pair of Saturday wins. The Huskies opened the day with a 7-1 win over Sylacauga. Jack Ollis had two hits and drove in two. Brooks McRae also had two hits and Kurt Kizer scored twice. Baker Green picked up the win on the mound as he tossed six innings and struck out nine batters.
In the second game of the day, HT beat Pelham 6-3. The Huskies scored single runs in the first three innings. HT then scored three runs in the 5th inning to extend the lead. Logan Phillips got the win and Skylar Jones picked up the save. Trey Burrell had two hits and two RBI's. Ethan Duhon, Jackson Holland, Jack Ollis, and Baker Green all drove in runs.
Saturday's games were played at Pelham High School as part of the 7th annual Field of Teal event. Coach Jeff Mauldin's squad will be back in action on March 19 when they travel to Calera for a double header.

Softball Goes 2-0-1 at Weekend Event
Hewitt-Trussville Softball went 2-0-1 this weekend at the Buc Round Robin event in Hoover. The Huskies are now 16-1-1 overall on the season.

Sara Phillips threw a shutout and allowed just one hit while striking out seven. Crystal Maze led the way offensively as she went 2-3 at the plate. Maze drove in two runs and scored three times. Kenleigh Cahalan, Anyce Harvey, and Rylee Tyree all had multiple hits.
HT 11 Mortimer Jordan 11
A wild Saturday morning game ended in a tie. Kenleigh Cahalan was 2-3 at the plate with two RBI's and three runs scored. Anyce Harvey was also 2-3 at the plate with two RBI's and a run scored.
HT 15 Oxford 0
Sarah Hindman pitched a shutout and allowed just two hits. Hannah Dorsett, Crystal Maze, Rylee Tyree, Madi Mitchell, and Rubie Simon all had multiple hits.

Boys Tennis Finishes 2nd in Mobile
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Tennis advanced to the championship match of the McGill-Toolen Invite this weekend and finished in 2nd place. The Huskies put together a 3-1 overall record this weekend. On Friday, HT opened the event with a 8-1 win over St. Paul's. In the next round, the Huskies topped Huntsville 7-2 to advance to the semifinals.
In the semifinals on Saturday, the Huskies beat McGill-Toolen 6-3 to advance to the finals. In the championship match, HT fell to St. Louis (LA).
The HT Boys will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Homewood.

Boys Golf 3rd at Saturday Tournament
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Golf shot a round of 293 on Saturday to finish 3rd as a team at the Kickoff Classic at Twin Bridges. Two HT golfers finished within the top four overall. Ethan Hacker shot a round of 68 to place 3rd overall. Austin Freeman was also under par as he fired a round of 69 to place 4th individually. Gavin Isbell shot 77 and Stuart Dickson shot 79 to round out the scoring for the Huskies.
Hewitt-Trussville will travel to Prattville Tuesday for the Prattville Boys Invitational.

Girls Soccer Wins on Senior Night
Hewitt-Trussville Girls Soccer celebrated Senior Night on Thursday and defeated John Carroll 3-2. Taylor Doss scored the first HT goal off an assist from Jocelyn Davis. After John Carroll tied the game 1-1, Dejeh Cope gave the Huskies the lead again as she scored off an assist from Kaylee Rivas. Jocelyn Davis would give the Huskies some breathing room as she added the third goal.
HT honored these Seniors Thursday night: Audrey Campbell, Dajeh Cope, Kyra Dixon, Brooklyn Johnson, Kaylee Rivas, and Anna Russell.
HT will be back into Area play Tuesday night as they host Gadsden City at 5pm. Fans can purchase tickets at the link below.

Boys Soccer Celebrates Seniors
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Soccer honored its Seniors on Thursday night. The Huskies scored an exciting last-minute goal to secure a 1-1 draw against John Carroll. The Seniors that were honored were: Daniel Cosby, Jacob Crow, Seth Hall, Bailey Harris, Colton Hollingsworth, Cooper McCombs, Landon Surratt and Ethan Wilson.
The Huskies will host Gadsden City for an Area match Tuesday night at 7pm. Fans can purchase tickets at the link below.

Amiya Payne and Team Alabama Win All-Star Game
Hewitt-Trussville Senior Amiya Payne helped lead team Alabama to a 102-70 win in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. The event was held in Montgomery on Friday night. Payne scored 10 points and added six rebounds.
Payne and her teammates at Hewitt-Trussville set the school record this season with 29 wins.

HTMS Baseball Goes 3-2 During Last Week
HTMS Baseball played five games in the last week and had a 3-2 record. On March 9, the Huskies beat Oak Mountain 9-2. Grayson Pope pitched five innings to pick up the win. Pope also had two hits and scored twice. Cam Simpson had three hits and Christian Helmers had two hits.
HT defeated Helena 16-2 on March 10. Cooper Huffman had four hits and drove in three runs. The Huskies then split a double header with Chelsea on March 13. In the Husky win, Christian Helmers picked up the win on the mound. Will Mize had two hits and drove in a run.

MS Tennis Defeats Oak Mountain
HTMS Tennis defeated Oak Mountain in a MetroSouth conference match on March 9. The HT Boys and the HT Girls won 6-3. The Huskies host Simmons on March 18.
