Focus On Education
Friday, November 15, 2024
On Monday morning, several Hobart Middle School students were among a crowd of Hobart residents and honored Veterans attending a celebration at Veterans' Memorial Park in Hobart. HMS students Kristijan Stojkoski, Layla Lucas, and Ryan Granzow read their winning essays from the "Patriot's Pen" contest.
HHS students Anabelle Fraley and Michael Dooling also had prize-winning entries from the "Voice Of Democracy" essay contest, and will present their winning works (along with the aforementioned HMS winners) at next week's school board meeting. Both of these contests are sponsored by the VFW, and are dedicated to promoting patriotism and investing in our future generation. Special thanks to local VFW 5365 for sponsoring our Brickies and awarding prizes for their winning essays. Click here to read more about these competitions and other VFW scholarship opportunities.
Also in attendance was the Hobart High School's own Wolffgang, who presented a patriotic medley in honor of the occasion. As usual, the girls of Wolffgang represented SCOH and our nation beautifully.
It's been a week full of accomplishments and celebrations for our Brickies! The students of the School City of Hobart continue to make us proud as they show us how to #BeExcellentOnPurpose! Check out what they've been up to and see what's coming up next for the SCOH in this week's edition of Focus on Education!
