SPIRIT WEEK: Halloween Themed
Mindful Monday : “Happy Mindful Monday! Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present in the moment. Use a 'feelings thermometer' to check-in with yourself. When we feel our best, we are in the green zone. When we are not quite our best, we are in the yellow zone. When we are uncomfortable, we are in the orange zone. When we are extremely uncomfortable, we are in the red zone. Where are you right now? Do this check-in throughout the day.”

You will return more focused and ready to work on whatever you were doing."

Mental Health theme for October, "Removing the Mask" being kind to others and to ourselves
This month we focus on the link between identity and mental health, When students are misunderstood or targeted based on their identity- including but not limited to race, gender culture- it can cause emotional harm. But when their identity is affirmed, reflected, and celebrated, they are more likely to experience positive mental health and connection. This campaign encourages courageous, supportive conversations about students' strengths, values, and lived experiences. By learning with students and creating a safe, inclusive environment, we can help them understand their role in the community, advocate for their needs, and see how they matter in the world. Building school communities where students can remove their masks celebrating themselves and one another.

Safety and Security
The District’s top priority remains the safety and security of our students and staff. As you are aware, we have experienced a nationwide and local increase of school threats that have disrupted schools, sometimes referred to as “swatting.” Swatting involves individuals making prank calls or social media posts to emergency services to provoke a large-scale response to a specific location. We know that these incidents can take a significant toll on the school community. Attached you will find communication flyers regarding School Threats to continue to ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment. See Something Say Something!
