Dear Engineering Academy Parents and Students,

I am thrilled to start this new academic year with all of you! The first day of school is always filled with excitement and new beginnings, and I am eager to embark on this journey together. This year promises to be filled with learning, good friendships, and opportunities for growth.

The Engineering Academy has two fantastic teachers who support the academy as campus facilitators. They assist students with on-campus questions and support our academy events. Our EA Teacher Facilitators are:

We had a great time last week during our Freshman Student Orientation. Our incoming 9th graders received important information, played fun games, and got to know their peers. It was a great way to launch our school year!

Thank you for your patience with the release of the Academy bus information. We want to ensure everyone is informed about the bus routes and schedules for academy students. These routes are specifically for students coming to Elkins from other parts of the district. Students zoned to Elkins will take the regular bus route to Elkins High School.

Please note that if you live within 2 miles of the campus, FBISD does not provide bus service. If you have any questions regarding the bus schedule, feel free to email Mrs. Martinez at rosae.martinez@fortbendisd.gov or contact FBISD's transportation department.

The School Counselor team is working diligently to ensure students are in the right courses. Counselors are divided by alpha-split. Please see below to identify your counselor.

This is a reminder all academy students must be enrolled in the PLTW Engineering pathway. In addition, you must be enrolled in one AAC/AP math and science course every year. Finally, one credit of advanced Computer Science is required during high school. Sample schedule below.

1. Who do I contact to request schedule correction? Your counselor.

2. Can Mrs. Martinez make schedule changes? No, only your counselor can.

3. What do I do if I don't hear back from my counselor? Please be patient. Counselors or working diligently through their emails. Please allow them 48 hours to respond. If you don't receive a response within 48 hours, please let me know. I will do my best to get them your message.
