Pop Shoppe Design!
During the creation of Wayne Thiebud's Pop Shoppe, our ambitious second-graders learned to differentiate between the foreground, middleground, and background of a painting. They practiced the flow of ovals, circles, and cylindrical vessels. Finally, they sketched their mini-cakes onto their 4x6 canvases. Excellent work, second-grade!

2022-2023 School Performance Reports
Dear Beach Haven Parents, Guardians, and Members of the School Community,
The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) recently released the 2022-2023 New Jersey School Performance Reports which are available on the NJ School Performance Reports webpage at www.njschooldata.org. The 2022-2023 School Performance Reports include all data that was previously reported prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes all assessment, student growth, and accountability data.
The NJDOE believes that it is critical to use the data in the reports, along with other information collected directly within districts and communities, to start conversations, identify information gaps, and continue to find ways to ensure all students receive the support and resources that they need. We use the School Performance Reports in conjunction with school and district data to identify priorities for upcoming year planning and the use of state and federal dollars. As data over the last three years was impacted by the pandemic in various ways, the NJDOE does recommend caution in comparing data from year to year.
Regards,
Theodore Loeffler

Every Day Matters- Attendance
Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. This relationship between attendance and achievement may appear early in a child's school career. A recent study looking at young children found that absenteeism in kindergarten was associated with negative first grade outcomes such as greater absenteeism in subsequent years and lower achievement in reading, math, and general knowledge
Chronic Absenteeism is defined by the U.S. Department of Education as missing 15 days or more a year. If your child reaches 18 or more absences, it then has to be reported to the State of New Jersey for our School Performance Reports.
