Congratulations to Penny Shevock for winning the OLVCS Spelling Bee and placing 3rd in the Diocesan Bee. We are so proud.

Next week is the Art Show & Spring Concert. Doors open for the Art Show at 5:30 and the Spring Concert begins at 6:30. The Art Show is on the 2nd floor of the elementary wing, and the Spring Concert will be in the gym.

Tuesday, I had hip surgery, I am sure you may be wondering what happened to the ankle, well it is a long story. This week I am working from home, next week, I may be in the office for a few hours each day. Please email or call the office if you need anything, I will return your call.

Students in Mrs. Koehle's Social Studies classes organized an event to benefit the charity, A Soldier's Hands, in honor of Mrs. Salada's son, Nate. Together, 7th and 8th graders made 150 care packages that will be sent to US soldiers serving overseas. Students also presented a check of $356 to A Soldier's Hands, which was raised from the school-wide Red, White and Blue dress-down day.

OLVCS students participated in the local Solar Car Competition yesterday. Students were challenged to make their own solar cars to use in various competitions against students from other local schools. Our OLVCS students were also able to use our new 3D printers in their designs!

Students from OLVCS won the following categories:

• 2nd and 3rd places - Best Use Of Recycled Materials
• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places - 3D Printing
• 1st and 2nd places - Cool Design
• 2nd place - Lightest Car
• 1st place - Straightest Race

The teachers have been enjoying a great week! Thank you for sending in the teacher "Fan Mail" to brighten their day and remind them how much they're appreciated!

• Our spring concert is on May 15th at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to attend!
• All band and strings students will have a dress rehearsal on May 12th from 2:30-4:00pm.
• We will also be performing for the school on Wednesday, May 14th after lunch at 12:45pm.

We need your help! This annual event consists of fun, outdoor stations in the morning. The K-3 students will be at stations in the back of the school, and 4-8 will have their stations in the front. Parent volunteers are needed for 'running' the stations, as classes rotate through. No experience necessary!

This parade celebrates their achievements as OLVCS alumni and their time spent at OLVCS while looking forward to the bright futures that await them all.

Please plan to check in at the main office by 1:45pm to ensure a timely start to the festivities.

We eagerly anticipate seeing all of the graduating seniors there and celebrating together. Please help us spread the word!

Any OLVCS 8th grade girl who will be attending Saint Joseph's next Fall is invited to join in their Spring volleyball open gyms. The Four Pillars Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Centre Hills Golf Club.
